  1. It's always hard to watch the younger generation get sucked in by the same lies the previous generations where sucked in by
  2. Unsecured ballast, luggage etc. is a potential killer at anytime. Unfortunately, many people don't think of it at the time.
  3. I knew a guy once that used cinder blocks for weight in the back of his Astro Van. He was lucky to be alive after he ditched once. Made a mess of the inside of the van. People, make sure any ballast is well secured.
  4. As of 2016. It's proposed seniors pay $23.11 per year for a Sport Fishing License plus $9.36 for and Outdoors Card. So they will have the place to apply it.
  5. Wow, a lot of people showing their age here On the farm, our ring was one long, two short, if anyone could get though. Our neighbour was famous for hogging the line.
  6. I'm always happy to give the government more of my money to spend. They're so much better at it than I am
  7. You hit the nail on the head. With out immigration, a country with Canada's demographics would soon flounder economically.
  8. Very true. I made this the comment for the ones who think that people that take kids fishing are trying to increase their catch. Those who think that, have never fished with a kid.
  9. IMHO and from my experience, taking a 3, 4 , 5 or even 6 year old fishing usually decreases your chance of catching. You spend more time helping and catering to the needs of the child. This results in you (the experienced angler) concentrating considerably less on your own fishing.
  10. I've had Hankook winter i-pikes on my vehicle for the past 2 winters and they've performed and held up well. Last winter was a real test in our part of the country and no complaints with them so far.
  11. My guess is a plugged pilot jet in the carb. Sounds like a good carb cleaning is in order.
  12. A missing mouse trap usually means chipmunk, squirrel or rat!
  13. I've used these for over 10 years now with great success.
  14. In the old days, a pail of oats or barley and a tin of this would solve your problem pronto
  15. The wife and I were out last week with Dipsy's. She had the Cleo on and I had the Canoe, both tipped with minnows. We both had 2 six and a half pounders each in the boat with in 2 hours. We were trolling fairly fast. If they're not biting, I'll play with my trolling speed before swapping out spoons.
  16. You're right. They're out there. Don't fish for them myself, but have seen many and caught a few while casting cranks for small mouth.
  17. There was only one factor that contributed to this accident. A car abandoned by it's driver in a passing lane on a busy highway without even hazard flashers. Without that car stopped there, none of this would have happened.
  18. Just finishing lunch and about to go get in the boat to get some walleye for supper.
  19. That he could have avoided it. You weren't on that bike, you weren't operating it in those exact conditions and circumstances but yet you assume he should have been able to swerve and miss it. I call that an assumption. Lets not forget, the lady in the 1st car that swerved only had the stopped vehilce to focus attention on, The driver of the bike behind was dealing with a car in front of him suddenly swerving plus a stopped vehicle in the road. More information to process, maybe a split second longer to process it, a split second he didn't have because of this woman's careless act of stopping a car in a highway's left lane without even putting the flashers on.
  20. Well Bill, you're making assumptions as to why he should have. Goes both ways. The point is, no stop car in left lane of a major highway with no flashers = no accident.
  21. Like others have pointed out, it's not always possible to swerve due to other traffic. The car in front said she didn't have time to brake, so she swerved, it very likely the motorcyclist didn't have that option, and it still doesn't alter the fact that, if she hadn't abandoned her car in the left lane of a highway with no flasher on, then the accident would not have occurred. Her actions are the root cause of this accident and her actions lead to the deaths of two people. As for punishment, that's up to our legal system to work out.
  22. The root cause of the accident was a car parked in the left lane of a highway with no flashers on. With out this root cause, the accident wouldn't have happened. She bears sole responsibility.
  23. Could be a sticky relay.
