I would look around the Hawksbury area you are near the Ottawa River .A close drive to the St-Lawrence ,Ottawa and Montreal. Sorry I can't help you with cottage rentals but I am sure with a little Google wizardry you can find some cottages. I go Camping in this area Voyageur Provincial Park. Have a nice vacation.

Yes spend the extra money on the Lund cover I have the tiller model it comes with 2 support polls which keeps the rain off and out of the boat during a heavy downpour as mentionned by Taper.The two supports also have vents for air circulation. What I like about this cover is that the snaps are moveable to be adjusted just unscrew slide and rescrew until you find the right position .The cover also fits well over the 4 sliding sport tracs.The cover moves very little in the wind compared to an after market cover.I had a $150 cover for my last boat a big tinny it ripped a few times during long trips.I know you can get a nice cover custom made but I doubt you will have enormous savings,This boat is basically the same layout as your Rebel.Mine is a 1660 Classic. Pay now or pay later .Nice boat BTW enjoy.

What you should purchase is a net with a rubber mesh or rubber coating very gentle on fish and hooks are snag free. MTP

I myself just use a 2hp Honda with a long shaft it does a fine job. full throttle it pushes my 16 foot Lund 4.5mph I don't fish the great lakes so I don't need bigger. it has performed well for me even on a decent chop on Quinte. Your boat however is fiberblass and much heavier you could always try out the 4 horse if it does not work out then sell it and go bigger. Good Luck

I think that the 25hp there will be a little difference but I don't think 50% I know when I had a 55hp Suzuki it sucked more than 50% more gas than My Honda 50hp 4 stroke. Sinker I really did see a hell of a difference in fuel costs. Last year in November in Quinte when the price of gas was around the $1 mark I spent $34 for 3 days of fishing covering 25 to 30 miles per day

well said . Bernie is right I think the new Etechs do not smoke my question is do they shake alot during a slow troll every one I ever used was annoying shake rattle and roll while trolling .Not to mention they make other things in the boat vibrate.

I think you fiberglass boat performs better with your etech because it has 40 more hp that the 130 Honda you were running.I think you were somewhat under powered before you upgraded to 175hp this may explain why the Honda used more fuel than you etech it was forcing too much.

Sinker most motors being 4 stroke or 2 stroke have the same top speed .I admit the 2 stroke gets you there faster .I have owned both have you? no more 2 SMOKES for me. 4 stroke all the way.BTW you have the right boat let the can of worms be open

I will only go out on the ice when renting a hut from an outfitter I stick to the path the outfitter tells me to stay on they are experienced with the thickness and the wherabouts of safe ice. It always gives me the creeps when I am driving on the ice but in most of the times I had a vehicle on the ice the ice was 2 or more feet thick. MTP
