  1. Fair enough...snow trekking is NOT easy, especially when hauling out all that gear.
  2. winner winner walleye dinner.
  3. Boy, we must be fishing a different Nipissing. Have you tried minnows?
  4. Ice fishing is way easier than sitting in a boat. You can sit, walk, lay, sleep, stretch...it's all there. I suppose the cold can be killer on joints or arthritis however.
  5. +1. I couldn't be happier this time of year. The fishing rarely stops due to weather. Enjoy living in your own heads guys.
  6. odd topic. At least you didn't call it "where I stick my fingers"
  7. Better pics from the 23rd.
  8. Those trout would be well fed eating those salamanders. Great report and mix bag of fish!!
  9. Beautiful weather and it looks mild enough too. Great mix of fish!
  10. Thanks guys. We went again at 5 am this morning. One keeper walleye, a herring and tons of perch.
  11. Wow, what a pig!
  12. Team 8 could use some of those whities.... hand em over! Nice outing ... nice fish...
  13. one and a half hours on the ice and managed one keeper walleye and a 61cm/5lbs sow. She swam away, just a little angry... The guys around us were going nuts apparently catching big ones as well. I need a good camera, my ipod doesn't have a flash. Squint just right, and you'll see the big girl. I swear I havn't taken background blurring to a new level.
  14. Nice photos and fish!! Looks like it was a blast
  15. http://www.fishingtackleshop.com.au/categories/Specials-%26-Clearance/?sort=featured&page=2 I always like a good deal, but I'm unfamiliar with this reel...any feedback. Holds 14 lbs test, maybe a little to heavy.
  16. Where is Lonely Isle? C.Bay? Mostly it's been the same for me this year...perch all day and 45 minutes of walleye at dusk.
  17. I bought this sled specifically for a two week family trip in Wawa and then sold it. This was a great winter trip.
  18. Welcome to the OFC ice shack and good luck in Kingston.
  19. Jim Jigger and I went up to Lake Temagami yesterday and fished hard. He got 2, I got ZIP! ouch. Even though I was tired as heck from yesterday, I felt a burning need to get back out there and catch fish before this turns into a skunky streak. Me and a couple work buddies drove to the shack for prime time. A small walleye hit my minnow within the first 10 minutes and the boys were stoked for more to come. With the promise of "millions" of perch and a few walleye, the absolute lack of movement after that first walleye was weird and suprising. An hour passed and we all defaulted to saying " it's nice just getting out" and even though I believe in that spirit, I didn't really believe it at the time. At 5:30pm buddy #1 (the rookie) pulls in a nice 13 inch walleye using a swedish pimple with a gaudly placed minnow. At 6pm I pull in a good eatin 14 incher. Five minutes later .... BAM! 23.5 incher! I tagged it for the OFC tourny and let her swim. (there was another cam there if your wondering why I'm looking away haha) Next bite is a small perch. The only one of the day where did they all go?? Felt good to let go of the big girl even if it was outside the slot, she was fat and full of eggs. One guys said " your a good man" the other said " I would have kept it" hahaha. To each their own.... I already have some nice snack size walleye.
  20. The herring we caught and tried to eat last year had HUGE white worms and the meat was gross. I've heard from others the meat is good. Too bad about the bummer fishing, the weather took a toll on the fish activity I imagine. Trust me there are still plenty of big fish in that lake.
  21. We noticed them yesterday on the Temagami lakers...just a few on the tail. I called em lice as well.
  22. You son of a ..... I spent 12 hrs on the ice yesterday , with 6 inch holes looking for the SAME THING. My buddy got two decent ones, but nothing like yours. Lake trout actively avoid me, I'm convinced of it. My jealousy enrages me... in a good way hahaha. nice job!!!!
  23. Nice speckled splake trout. Full of perch minnows...I'd be jigging a perch chubby darter knowing that. Then again, I apparently can't catch trout through the ice if my life depended on it.
  24. Sorry...no next step. I was too hungry and ate it.
