  1. You'd better not catch any of those quebec walleye unless you have a quebec license. I don't know how you'll confirm with the fish whether he's been on the quebec side or not. "as soon as i dropped the line...." you gotta LOVE when that happens. Every time I drill a new hole, that's what I'm expecting. Real dark fish from that lake! Thx for sharing.
  2. It would have been wise to post the dates in which the fish were caught, to avoid such a spree... either way, definitly some trigger happiness going on. Nice walters. I was hoping for the same yesterday but the Ottawa was destroyed with debris and mud.
  3. Never seen one before, but that is one cool looking bait!
  4. Great morning read. Looks like the family was all smiles with that outing!
  5. Ya, its not looking good for some of the ferries and, well everyone else for that matter. I was thinking maybe they were just controlling it upstream to allow for the huge influx of runoff water.
  6. Nice quad! Thoroughly enjoyed my day! The Ottawa river was down by a good 6-7 feet so the banks were bare, exposing the stuff that is typically submerged. Found some lures, cool rocks, old railroad stuff... But no fish. Oh well... Its something special when a single long sleeve shirt is TOO warm in March!
  7. I was on a small sheltered lake yesterday and the ice was pretty good at 14inches. No current and well covered by trees. I saw some guys on Pimisi lake today, you wouldn't catch me anywhere near current right now. The Ottawa river is completely open near Mattawa
  8. What type of cats are those? We get channel cats on the ottawa river, but the don't look quite the same, plus ours are greyish in colour.
  9. Sweet, I'll have get out, spend some money locally and catch some saugeen rainbows one of these days!
  10. Haven't received my license since buying it Jan 1 and they still owe me 50 bucks. Will I ever see that check?
  11. I haven't looked at the standings in a while. You gotta be kidding me!
  12. Lonely indeed. I only saw a couple groups of fishermen out there.. and one truck We "stormed" out of there when we saw lightling in the background. That marked the end of my Nipissing ice season for 2012. All those Simcoe rescues made me nervous as hell...even with 13 solid inches haha
  13. Hope you'll catch some bowfin this summer... It's not something we catch further north. Welcome.
  14. You're a man of many Provinces and Territories! It's always a pleasure to read your stories.
  15. Awesome!! That was a good last minute entry Pikeslayer, haha. Congrats to Ron, leechman and Pikeslayer!
  16. I'm really impressed that he's still making quality music after all the years!
  17. Yup, that's a good cover The ambasador album is great! They have a new one out but I havnt heard it yet
  18. Good. I thought about you the other day when I saw a cop with a dead headlight. I spoke to him and said "your headlight is out", he responded "its only one". The guys around me kind of laughed at guy, as he seemed a little sheepish about it.
  19. I did just that... http://openparliament.ca/ You can find who your MPP is and how to contact. I just said in a respectful manner that I'm not pleased with the changes to the Fisheries Act, nor am I pleased with the method by which they are doing it.
  20. They also voted no to Bill C-267, the "Canada water preservation act". NDP, Green and Libs voted yes...but it failed. http://parl.gc.ca/HousePublications/Publication.aspx?Language=E&Mode=1&DocId=5123018&File=27 Who needs a permanent source of fresh water when we can just filter dirty water and sell it in bottles?
  21. You'll never see a group like the GRCA in the Ring of Fire or any unorganized township. Consultants provide independent and properly conducted assessments... if they are done for the Feds or on public property, then they are publicly available (FOI). In some instances, this "ammendment" to the act will allow the industry to perform their own Env. Assessments. "YUP, DIG HERE, THIS BROOKE TROUT HAS NO CLEAR CULTURAL VALUE". Yes, Consultants are too expensive and sometimes provide obvious information for $100's per hour...but there's gotta be a middle ground, and it would be nice if something like this wasn't slipped in with the budget.
  22. Welcome aboard. Have fun exploring new waters!
  23. I'd love to have a plate of rainbow filets for tomorrows dinner!! Nice fish.
