Dunns is NO longer on St Catherine Street across from the Montreal Trust Plaza, it has reopened on Metcalfe St, just about 100 yard south of ST Catherine. Metcalfe is one block west of Mansfield. The Montreal Junior Team is leading the Quebec Leaque, they play in Verdun, take the Metro. The Montreal Museum of Art is on Sherbrooke, just west of Crescent ST, I'm sure you'll find Crescent St.!!!! David aka Superdad

TJ What a Super way to announce the winners of your contest - and you choose my name out of the bag. Really great show. David aka Superdad

Isn't a sun screen enough protection from the rays??? You have to go Ninja like too??? The show's format was a change and change is always a good thing, otherwise it becomes a routine. Nice Boat and the camera is always good. The cast count was really good- being that the fish of 10,000 casts came better than that. Cheers David aka Superdad

The internet forums are a terrific method of meeting new people and getting together to fish. I have been lucky enough to have met Steve-Hamilton a number of years ago and even more fortunate to be able tfish with him on his annual trip to Quinte in December. This year, he asked me to join him on his final day of his trip. We met at Perfect Vue and headed for the launch ramp. Stopping at the Adolphustown-Glenora ferry to look at the ramp, I spied a penny on the ground and following tradiition - "Find a penny -Pick it up - and you'll have good luck" Yea Right!!!! Who believes in old wives tales  Arriving at the Pryners launch ramp, all the ice that had been there on Thursday had diappeared and it was clean, Five other boats had launched there - there were boats on the water. Headed toward the Batcave and set the four lines and began the fishing. After 10 minutes, the outer board went back - not a violent strike - but definitely a fish on. Clearing the inner rod, I was able to bring the fish to the net and we had the first of the day. Released it and continued trolling. The fishing slowed down as we fished for an hour and half without any action. It was time to try some new water. We headed to a spot closer to the ferry where the fishing was good a few days ago. Made a pass and a turn to avoid the tiny ice floes coming down from the ferry. Steve felt that another spot on his GPS a short motor away might do the trick. Set the rods and we didn't wait long. At 1340, the lead core rod went off and we were into another fish. This one was a bit bigger. To shorthen the post I won't try and describe each fish. The fish were on the take. In the next 2 and a half hours, we were lucky to hit another 14 fish. That's not a typo - fourteen more walleyes in varying sizes. Another good one. Steve landed one Steve landed another Superdad lands another As the sun was setting, the fish were still taking and Steve landed the last fish of the day at approx 1630. Tha brought the count to a total for the day of 16 fish. That is the BEST day I have ever experienced on the Bay of Quinte. Last fish of the day Talking to others at the launch ramp on our return, it seemed as though everyone had experienced a good day on the water. The day had been spectacular, the weather had been mild(no gloves) and the winds not a bother - have a look at the pictures and you can how calm the water was. A great day fishing. I think that the soft-water will be over for me and we'll wait til the ice gets much thicker before venturing out. Stay Tuned David Delcloo aka Superdad

Well, the weather was supposed to be crappy and blow like crazy, BUT, you have to experience the ACTUAL conditions and not the Weather Networks words of destruction and havoc......... Laker John and I had planned to go today, so we headed off in the darkenss with the rising sun on our backs heading to BOQ to see what was happening on the water. Oh the wind was blowing out of the south and some parts of open water were wave covered. Not all of the water is exposed to the harsh winds - n'est ce pas? We felt that Hay Bay offered us the best protection from the pending winds - the rain was just part of the day. Began trolling at 0800 and had a snag almost immediatley, the drift sock got sucked in the prop, unwound the sock and headed for a replacement. Picked up the backup and headed to the Old Church as the south shore would offer us protection, it didn't do a very good job and we headed for some better shelter. Trolling in the quiet of the lee, we were able to ply the trolling trade and it was quite nice. The rain made the day damper than we would have liked but that's fishing folks. Just before noon, the planer board acted real funny and we had a fish on, I brought the fish to the boat and Laker John did a superb job and the fish was ours. A quick visit to the scale - which showed 7.25 lbs. The lure of choice was a Frenzy No. 7 - Firetiger. The trolling continued and the rain continued and continued and continued....... We couldn't produce a second strike and called it a day at 1430 hrs. Oh we were wet right through the floater suits. Does any one know if you can treat these suits and make them more waterproof???? We didn't see any other boats on the water. Stay Tuned the water is still soft - albeit 38 Degs F..... Cheers David aka Superdad

I finally took the the fly fishing plunge
superdad replied to muskymatt's topic in General Discussion
Matt Now you have gotten into another facet of fishing and off course you'll have to amass a vast supply of fly fishing stuff. Next you'll start tying flies and then the real collecting begins. Cheers David aka Superdad -
Best of Luck in his retirement - now he can fish without pressure to produce a fishing show - There is a difference fishing for fun and having to catch fish. BTW - His son is writing articles - saw one in Great Lakes Angler an issue or so ago.

Good report - Night fishing is always trickey, but when it works - it's great. Thanks for sharing your weekend at Perfect Vue.

BOQ Charity Derby & Prefishing- Nov 12&13
superdad replied to superdad's topic in General Discussion
OOOPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm in a time warp - Hope you guys get some fish next weekend -
BOQ Charity derby & Prefishing Nov 12 & 13 - D'ohhhhhh As Laker John and I were entered in the Charity Fishing Derby on the 13th, we thought as good fishers that a day of 'pre-fishing' would be the answer to getting a fish or two. We travelled from Hay Bay to Huffs Shoal and trolled up and down there with no results. A hour of jigging in that area produced the same results. We headed south down Long Reach and the flotilla of boats jigging at Thompsons Pt, there were at least two dozen, not counting the boats trolling around the yellow marker. We decided to troll to the yellow marker and then up into Hay Bay. We passed Sheldon and his charter of guys laughing and having a good time. The zero result was achieved. We thought we had best get closer to home base and trolled up near Bayview Resort. We started trolling and within five minutes, the flag on the board went back - yipee fish on. I reeled the fish in and John put the net under the fish and it was ours. A quick photo and a rest on the scale and back she went. Setting the rod again, we started the troll and within a 100 yards, the flag bentback on the board - another fish on. John took the rod and set the boat to drift and I put the net under the fish and she was in. Holy Cow!!!!!! All day nothing and a pair in fifteen minutes. Once again the photo taken and the scale was tested and back she went. We called it a day and spent the evening eagerly awaiting the start of the derby on Saturday. After having had the live-well checked, we were back to launch and begin the fishing. Starting at 0700, we had trolled approx 200 yds and the board moved with a fish. Unfortunately, the hook pulled out as I was raising the fish to the net - DARN!!!!!! We trolled in the area for the next several hours and we were able to attract 8 strikes, four were lost and a pair of pike and a pair of walleye were landed. The walleyes were both under 25", so these were our entries in the derby, couldn't attract a 10lb plus, but that's fishing. We weighed our fish and thanks to BayBoy, we got some pictures of the fish as they were released as soon as the weighing was concluded. These were the pair we brought in - one for fifth prize and one for seventh prize. Lots of people fishing but the results are not to write home about, many people drew blanks. We had a great time and are planning for next years derby as we drove back home. Thanks to Les Corby and his volunteers for a Super event. Stay Tuned the soft water isn't over for a while. Mike If at first you don't succeed - come fishing again. The fishing has been tough, but some people have solved the puzzle. Cheers

We had some great brown fishing in the spring on a Spro lure. It was discontinued BUT a phone call to the factory and they were able to take my CC and mail them to me. They had some still on hand. Perhaps that's the way to go for discontinued favourites.
