  1. Yes, these are awesome. I also keep a large tarp and some bungee cords to make a shelter, lays flat nicely in the floor storage, a machete and a small ratchet set and screwdriver set, probably other crap too but I can't think off the top of my head. GOOD THREAD!
  2. I love the big ones too, its just when I got that one was 2 weeks prior when I needed smaller minnows, my tank works pretty good, kept that sucker for 2 weeks!
  3. Hi all, Posted some stuff earlier this month about meeting up with a fellow Youtuber and his buddy from Idaho. They were staying at a camp on Lake Wabigoon which is the lake I live on so we managed to meet up a few times. On their last day I scooted from the house and met them near the camp for an hour or so after they texted me they were on some fish. Got there and hooked into 2 beauties....both 28"ers. Was a real hoot meeting up in the real world, they told me they would be in the camp boat wearing red carnations.....
  4. Hi all, The walleye are on the move.....AT LAST! Been a cold spring and start to summertime, which has kept the walleye very shallow. This last Saturday got out to Lac Seul for the afternoon, and it seems the walleye have moved from the shallows where they were last week and are spreading out into the main lake. Still most fish between 12' and 17'FOW. Big sucker minnows and leeches on jigs kicked butt!
  5. I got 99 problems but a FISH ain't one.

    1. spincast

      spincast

are they on the wall? If one should happen to fall.....

  6. Hi all, Even though he can be a royal pain in the derriere while in the boat, Roloff is also very endearing and amusing to have along for the ride, its safe to say he LOVES FISHING too. Got out for an hour or so in the evening the other night, headed to a midwater reef on Wabigoon that will take your skeg off in low water years. Fished in the 4'-9' range close to the drop and was rewarded with numerous small walleye, pretty much a fish a cast on bobbers and jigging 1/8oz lead jigs. Tried a variety of baits as you can see in the video, leeches were the best that evening.
  7. Hi all, It was 'PD' day at school on Friday so I promised my kid we would go to Lac Seul. he was so pumped all week he told a bunch of kids at his school where he was going. One of the kids told his dad he wanted to go too and his dad texted me and so the plan was born. Turns out John knows this part of Lac Seul like the back of his hand so we exchanged a few spots between us. Jack and Zack had a great time too. Fish were still really shallow, between 2' and 7' FOW. Got to play with the drone too, some nice shots of our shore lunch spot of 'Secret Island'.
  8. I just 'upgraded' my old Terrova to the Ulterra. I have kept the Terrova just in case the new one is junk. My Terrova got beat to hell and back over 9 years of travelling rough logging roads and apart from cosmetic wear and tear performs just as good as it did out of the box, seriously good trolling motors. Check the prop for fishing line is all I ever did. Get the i-Pilot for it too?
  9. Or some guy called Vishuscirquel on Youtube
  10. Hi all, Met up again with a guy up from Omaha who is staying at a local camp. This time he showed me a spot he knows. THANKS DAN! great spot, non stop slab crappie. 1/8th Oz jig with twister tail or minnow cast in by itself or under a slip bobber. Really shallow now, not more than 18" deep.
  11. I got a good deal on the boat so I put the money I saved towards gadgets.....the Ulterra ROCKS!
  12. Nice TJ! camp looks like heaven to me.
  13. Hi all, Went out for crappie and did pretty good. All very shallow on slip bobber with small minnow or twister tail. Also had the chance to meet up with a fellow Youtube who watches my videos, that was kind of cool, they are at a camp for a week on my home lake, Wabigoon. Turns out there is another Youtube at the camp who I was planning to meet to....small world...lol.
  14. BOWCHICKAWOWOW! awesome, thanks for sharing!
  15. Hi all, This is my favourite time of year to fish in front of the house, in fact it is really the only time of the year I do. In the spring the fishing usually goes nuts right off our shore, and there are NO BUGS!!!!
  16. No, you just need an ethernet cable. I am thinking of upgrading the one of got to this years models as the Ultra i have would then link via bluetooth, one less wire in my little boat.
  17. Love yer vids man! I would love to do that one day!
  18. Thanks Brian. The net is a Frabill Redleaf, I got it from CT on sale for $59. Looks like they discontinued it though. Its rubberized mesh, and like you say, telescopic. The handle can also be pushed up across the mouth of the net to make it even smaller, I hate having a huge net flapping around in the boat and this one is big enough for 44" pike and small enough not to be a pain! Thanks, its the new Ulterra with iPilot Link, cost more than my boat.....lol. Yup, for the most part just an eighth ounce jig with a minnow or twister tail. Thanks Rick, the drone is totally sick dude!....lol....i'm a wannabe surfer.
  19. Thanks! I still have to catch a crappie in the boat so far this year. LOL...as for the boat.....BOOO! The drone has numerous auto tracking modes. More on the way....and THANKS!
  20. Hi all, Well....I think my expectations and excitement of walleye opener were too high, caught fish, but its been a cold spring and the fish were all over the place, some big ones deep already, but they had lockjaw, only fish feeding seemed to be in 5' to 3' FOW in the wind....LOTS OF PIKE! There was still ice on some north facing shores and average water temps were sub 50F. Still awesome to get out and fish this lake, its where I feel most at peace.
  21. picking up and re-setting our minnow traps.
  22. DJI says 27 minutes at 15mph or something like that. I find I get maybe 15 minutes as I don't like flying it once it gets to 30% battery power just because the Return to Home feature on the drone gets triggered when the battery is low. Because I'm mostly in the bush or over water the idea of the drone trying to land itself (especially when Im in the boat and have moved) freaks me out a bit. You can pause return to home and take over manual control, and set the height for return to home plus the drone has front and down Obstacle avoidance, but for now I'm playing it safe and learning the basics before I get carried away...lol. I don't think there are any predators in that pond, the reason why it produces good minnows.
