  1. Hi all, Heard a lot about aftermarket ATV snorkel kits, decided to see what all the fuss was about…...
  2. Hi all, The crappie fishing here this winter has been STELLAR. The jury is still out on how it will effect the fishery overall, but for the moment I will take advantage of great action right off the lawn, after all they aint going anywhere anytime soon. We have also had a walleye slot limit applied to wabigoon, nothing between 18" - 23" and only one over (lol...fat chance). Anyway....here is a video from the other day, still 18" of ice here, but the weather forecast means it wont be long before its not safe out there, give it about a week at this rate. Crappie are anywhere between 20 and 35 feet deep, I prefer the shallower depths as you can throw back the small ones, cant do that in 30'FOW.
  3. 18" of ice....day off......crappie all over Wabigoon now......GONE FISHIN'!

  4. Nice haul….must have been a blast!
  5. LOL…yeah…no more ice swimming ok? Thanks Mike, would love to collaborate with you one day and steal some of your awesome pics! LOL…its nice when they bite for sure! Yeah, Wabigoon Lake is the same colour as a double/double Timmies, its the clay, so its very murky down there and the fish look like creatures that inhabit caves….albino….all the fish are the same…..they look very sickly but taste just fine!
  6. Thanks man! I have some already, I have micro tubes, crappie bites, this bug…that bug…big jigs, little jigs, three bags full jigs (lol)…..I even tried some fly fishing flies today that looked like the mayfly larvae they were hacking up….no good. Also i don't mind hauling minnows around…I have a pretty good live bait storage system at home and its no sweat bringing them along, whats more its more than just crappie down there so I like to have all angles covered.
  7. Not just me….google BFSC fishing….very good videos….very good!
  8. Hi all, Well the crappie on Wabigoon are now prolific. You can find them from the west end to the east end, I'm on the west end but would have to say the east end is better, not in terms of numbers but in terms of the bite, the fish on the east end are way more carefree and frisky and will zoom up to take your bait while my local piscatorial targets take a little more encouragement to commit if ya know what I mean. The east enders are to be found in 25'FOW and the west end boys (and girls) I have found so far are in 35'FOW….its all catch and keep this end as they don't survive the bends coming from deep so quick. I started fishing them with micro jigs and minnows but by accident discovered they liked the bigger 3/8 Oz jigs by far…weird….especially in metallic blue/silver. You have to use a very light rod as the bite is almost undetectable except for the random big aggressive fish. Slip bobbers also work as do large blue/silver Lindy style spoons tipped with a minnow head. Anyway, have a little video to share with you of my last outing about 5 mins away from our home...…..hope you enjoy.
  9. some people on this forum also have youtube channels
  10. thanks man, like I said…it was 'interesting', good but not a triumph….lol
  11. ok…that is cool. SLUSH SUCKS!
  12. Went out and got walleye and crappie this morning. Thought I'd try a walleye and crappie medley. Steamed the crappie with lemon and fresh dill and deep fried the walleye with a seasoned flour. Roasted some peppers with fresh herbs and an obscene amount of garlic and made a fresh parsley and English mustard sauce. For a twist on the usual fries i 'Julienned' the potatoes, they turned out like a kind of mixture between home made Hickory sticks and a hash brown. Not sure the flavours mixed that well, the peppers were very sweet as were the potatoes, definitely an invention to tinker with and improve on, but none the less was well received by the judges.
  13. LOL…when I go to Toronto I love letting people move in front of me or give way in traffic with a big goofy smile, freaks them out.
  14. NWO in my opinion…. we moved house from 4000 miles away with no jobs and no house to come to, 10 years later we are still here, on the lake, 7 acres, $20000 less per year…..but money counts for $%#@ if you are miserable. I fish everyday, can drive my truck anywhere, traffic jams are when deer cross the road, my kid can play outside anytime, my only neighbour pops round for a chat, we fish together, help each other out etc. I grew up in the city (London, England) 13 million people jammed together in filth….horrible, can't understand why people are so wedded to the insanity.
  15. Not much to worry about in that respect, most of the inshore coral is dead, warming, pollution and hurricanes. I did get stuck by a black sea urchin last year…holy OUCH! That is so cool, we are not far from Devil's Bridge, just a short drive through Freetown down to Willikies. Harry Who?…..lol Thanks Joey, they grow quick, today is his 7th birthday!!!!!!
  16. Hi all, Got back from the vaycay a couple days ago, have a ton of footage of fishing, albeit with very few fish caught, but I also got some cool underwater snorkelling footage. Very proud of my boy, took to snorkelling like a pro! We even saw a stingray!
  17. Thanks for the replies, I am using my new phone to post on a very sketchy internet connection , will get back to y'all and reply properly soon, video to follow, fishing has been fun but not very productive, still a couple days left to put some fish in the boat so to speak ???
  18. Hi all, There was not much ice here this morning, but that did not deter me. My perseverance paid off and i was rewarded with a stringer of nice 'slabs'.
  19. Got up early this morning to a beautiful sunrise hear in sunny Antigua, caught a small Trevally Jack and was back at 8:30am. my dad got a treat of fried fish for breakfast with a side of fresh melon and orange slices from the tree in the yard here. Basically gutted the fish and coated in seasoned flour and into the skillet, he loved it! Hopefully catch a snook in the next few days, gonna steam it with lemon.....
  20. Wow, emailed them 25 minutes ago with pictures of my ripped seat in my new flip over and they have just replied saying they are sending me a new seat! IMPRESSED!
  21. Hi all, Fixed the plow on my new quad and put it to good use right away by clearing a nice large rink down by my iceshack during midweek ready for the crew on the weekend. What an awesome day! The wind was down, it was only -6C and the rink turned out beautiful after 3 days of flood and freeze. Hot dogs and hockey.....check it out! https://youtu.be/GAQpyV3UTJY
