Hi all, Crappies are on fire, limited out in 25 minutes the other morning, nothing HUGE, but decent fish. Loved these little bug things I found at the bottom of my Gulp! assortment jar, all in 18FOW coming off the bottom.

Hi all, I have a small youtube channel with a fair few subscribers, sometimes they visit my neck of the woods and I show them around. Lew came up and was staying in his van in the parking lot of Walmart, he declined all attempts to crash at my place...oh well. No way I could let him come all the way up and not have a crack at Lac Seul as well as some shore fishing and our local lake (video on the way for that). We had a great week and lew was a gentleman, even spent a whole day helping to lay laminate flooring at my place. Here is the video from a quick shore fish and our visit to lac Seul.

The crappie in our lake stay relatively deep after ice out, still in the basins at 15-20FOW, they don't really move to the shallows until 2 or 3 weeks after ice out, then they can bee found very shallow in the mud bays and weeds, especially south facing ones. But that is just on our lake, other water bodies in other parts of the province would be different I guess.

Yeah I wondered about that too, using the lights while fishing is a no already, probably using automated fishing is not a go either, however I would not use it for that. Imagine using it to scout a large area for whitefish, but even then it could get tricky in the future, I don't know if they have banned drones for scouting while hunting but sure it won't be long if they haven't, this would be the same type of deal just underwater. The video I could take would be amazing though, especially under the ice!

Apples and oranges. They were delicious sea fish, you can taste the sea, not something you get with crappie, both delicious in their own way. As for filleting, just as much a pain in the behind as crappie....lol....but lots of meat if you do it right.
