  1. I've fished it a few times in August...those hot days of summer. I had moderate luck with largies in 5-8 feet of water in the bays. Texas rig a senko weightless and toss it into the weeds and on the edges and you'll find some. The map Chris talks about is definitely a good start. Good luck!
  2. Tarp is a must in rainy weather. For fishing/camping, I make sure I have a good rain suit and a working bilge pump! Bring some playing cards, games and a good book. Good luck this weekend.
  3. Nice going Will! The smiles on everyone's face really tells the story. Maybe we'll get out Saturday...keep me posted!
  4. Happy belated Roy! Hope it was the best yet!
  5. Call 519 623 9000 Here's their ad... "Coldspring Trout Farm consists of three cold, fresh, spring water ponds nestled within a 100 acre nature preserve. Our ponds are filled with healthy rainbow trout that are as good to eat as they are fun to catch. We have a no-release, keep what you catch fishery. A fly fishing catch and release program with annual memberships is available. You may bring your own fishing equipment or rent fully equipped rods from our pro shop as well as bait and accessories to help you land that big one! Located 5 minutes from Cambridge, one hour from Toronto - Hours: Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun and holidays 8-8"
  6. LOL...great report Will!! I had no idea there was a dress code...where do I get those ugly shirts anyways??? Looked like a great day guys...good to see you finally got out!
  7. Awesome fish!!!! All the better caught on home made tackle! Congrats!
  8. X4 for Lloyd. No question!
  9. Was that muskie trip this year or last?? Seems like ages ago...LOL. Just kidding! Hey Will...always a great day on the water...we actually caught some nice fish the last few outings! Love that underwater camera you have there...it took some great release footage of that muskie. I'll post a report later on with some more pics from our bass outing...and maybe the Lake O trip... LOL.
  10. Doesn't get much better than that does it Bernie!! Looked like a great Canada Day on the water.
  11. Interesting! Could very well have been the problem!
  12. I had a 1983 Merc 18hp that did exactly the same thing. While tightening it up, without a LOT of effort, it would loosen up. Before each trip I did a quick hand check of the nut and it never ever came off. I always had a spare prop handy just in case, but never had to use it.
  13. SWEET RIDE!!!!!
  14. Not sure a "crime" was committed here Geoff...I suppose it can be reported, but I wouldn't expect much to come of it. Are there surveillance cameras in the lot where you work?
  15. Mike...that's disturbing...not just that that picture exists, but that you knew where to find it!
  16. Fish logic....that was great! Would have taken the dog lol Seriously though, everyone has their share of crappy days
  17. Great opener! I still haven't found the 5+ pound bass yet...hoping to change that this weekend!
  18. Maybe you should have taken your daughter for panfish instead! Seriously though, even bad days on the water are better than a day working! Like others have said, it'll make a good story when comparing bad days with the fishing buddies!
  19. I was going to bring my daughter but she was feeling sick yesterday...trip to the doctor this morning and she's on antibiotics with strep throat. Glad to see it was a success! Great pics!
  20. Hmmmm...if you fish solo a lot how about a small tripod for those times you get that perfect fish? I have a small 6" one with bendy adjustable legs that I can put on any surface...the bow of my boat or uneven surfaces like rocks etc. I second the waterproof go pro camera as well. With camping and outdoor stuff as a general interest, what about a good quality multi tool? Hope you get some great stuff! You mentioned "spin fishing" for trout...does that mean you use spinning gear? How about a centerpin? I've used a spinning outfit for years and just bit the bullet on a pin.
  21. Must be a delay in the email system....I didn't get anything Will LOL
  22. This is why I've been quiet on this topic as well. All I know is that a great tragedy occured and I feel sad for everyone involved...
  23. Thanks for sharing this! Looks like a little slice of paradise there....good fishing and good friends...doesn't get much better than that!
  24. Hearing your son laughing with you on the video where the pike took the walleye is simply priceless Mike! He'll always remember these fishing trips with you...and one day he'll realize just how lucky he was to have you show him the ropes! Amazing scenery and fish Mike...another fantastic report!
  25. I once hooked a small steelhead....set the hook and the fish came flying out of the water and hit me in the face... I suppose that makes my hookset for steelies about a 12!
