Welcome to the forum! I was a complete newbie to creek fishing when I joined the forum. I learned by walking all the creeks from Duffin's east to Cobourg. Once I finally got into my first steel I was hooked! It's harder for me to find the time to fish now (Back then I fished as much as you do now!!), but maybe I should dust off my float gear and see what's still out there!

Canadian Tire has never manufactured anything and has never owned a manufacturer who supplies on their behalf. The corporation is a wholesaler who sells exclusively to franchised stores. That means all products are purchased from parties not affiliated with Canadian Tire in any legal way. Like most other large retailers, they hold ownership of private brands and has third party vendors manufacture to certain quality standards. Take a look at any of their annual reports...in it you will find sales and revenue from retail operations, petroleum sites, financial services as well as other retailers they have purchased (Mark's Work Wearhouse, Forzani Group etc)...but that's it. Whoever gave you the information that Canadian Tire manufactures anything was incorrect....either past or present.

I heard one Christmas Eve as well! Sounded like reindeer landed on my roof with a bang! It sounded like someone fell out of bed. Was around 11pm I think. I didn't hear anything last night. I read that the rain/freezing rain we had permeated the ground deeper than usual and when there are huge temperature drops, the expansion causes the quakes. Pretty cool though!

Hey Joe! Will did all the work...I just happened to stop by at the wrong time and got roped into helping split wood and load the truck! Just kidding...the store bought fire logs were a gift from me...I stocked up in case our power went out again. All was good in Whitby....just a 4 hour outage for me. I'm glad you had enough to keep you going til your lights came back on! It will certainly be a Christmas you won't ever forget.

I had been spared power loss until 11pm last night. Luckily it came back on at around 4am...all the lights coming on woke me up!

Street lights lit this up like a Christmas tree last night Woke up today to see branches from town trees broken and resting on my fence.... About 2cm of ice build up on everything. I'm glad I have nowhere to go today!

I've seen the first ice reports and just wanted to send out a reminder to those who want to venture out on the ice. First, here's a video about what to do if you fall through the ice....I was amazed at it and if you haven't seen it before, I bet you learn a thing or two! Here's a guide to what the "safe" amount of ice is... Let's see all your fish this winter....but most importantly....be safe out there!

I was thinking the same thing. Draining water out of the holes would significantly lower the overall weight. Cool video tho!

Yeah, but my way, I don't even take it to the curb....I make them come and remove it from my house or yard...LOL The trampoline and swingset....guys came and disassembled it and put it in their trucks. It worked out perfectly!

If you ever have something that's big and needs gone, just post it as FREE and it'll be gone within 24 hours! I've done that for old appliances that no longer work, a trampoline and a swing set. Just say first to take it away gets it....saves you a bunch of physical labour and potential waste transfer station charges if it was going there anyways!

Still way too early to speculate on the events that lead to it. Could be driver error, maybe the driver had a heart attack or stroke, maybe there was mechanical failure. Point right now is that it's tragic 6 people so far have lost their lives.
