Fishing Trips for This Year; Let's Hear Them!
ccmtcanada replied to Golfisher's topic in General Discussion
Our big trip this year will be Lakair with the gang....here's last years group shot...it's as much a social event as it is fishing....had an awesome time! Other than that getting out in our boat on Kawartha Lakes as often as possible....and of course our usual shore fishing jaunts during the week after dinner. -
Hopefully between the three of us, one of us explained it clearly enough....LOL

Using marshmallows to catch steelhead....
ccmtcanada replied to Billy - Curtiss's topic in General Discussion
Ok...where did you find this? I swear... I was young and I needed the money for University... -
My neighbour used to have to sleep pretty early in the evening...as he worked off hours most of the time. There was a dog nearby that barked and barked and barked...keeping him awake all the time. He went over and asked the owners to try to keep a lid on it, but they never did anything. One day, he went over at 3am and rang their doorbell at regular 5 second intervals. When the guy came downstairs and wondered what the heck was going on my neighbour held up his finger and said "Oh this...this is my dog and it's barking...is it keeping you up?"

Maybe the beavers around your place are looking for something bigger. ACK...I didn't just say that did I? Was that my outside voice???? You did walk into that one though Stoty... -
Beans...that's not snow... Seems to me you have a fungal problem on your lawn. Being in denial doesn't make my explanation wrong does it?

No problem if it's downhill both to the lake and back home. The issue may be in stopping....

Hey Matt!! Congrats on the fish, but especially for your daughter. I hear you, fatherhood changed my life...nothing beats it as far as I'm concerned.
-
Nice fish! Just goes to show you that you dont have to freeze your butt off every single year. Nice work.

LOL...this thread is hilarious. Hopefully you get out with Johnnyb and you get into a fish or two! Good luck out there!

Way to go Kemper! Great job and some nice fish too! Bly and I didn't fish the opener this year...thought we'd miss it, but for some reason we didn't...LOL. Anyhow...you're not only a good guy...you can catch steelhead with the best of them!
-
Man....you not only catch fish, but the pics you take are AMAZING! One of the best on this board in my opinion. Awesome report.....awesome fish....just plain awesome.

Great scene there. I'm now daydreaming about it...... Hey wait...I know that spot....if you look back at the painting tomorrow you'll see a hundred guys fishing that spot....hehe.
-
Yeah well, if we ever fish together then watch it....what I've lost in speed over the years I've gained in patience.....LOL. I'll just wait until you are fighting a fish....I don't think you'll take off at that point...see? I already know your weak points....
-
Watch it mister...you dont weigh that much and the water is pretty cold this time of year....
-
Sweet report!! Great to see you had a great day out there with the fish and the laughs. Excellent pics...and nice write up!

With the weather turning cold and rainy, we knew that Sunday may be the last outing for at least a little while. We headed out at around 8pm and fished until 10pm. We were at our usual night time spot and the carp are now beginning to jump right out of the water. It's a pretty amazing sight to see these 15 pound plus fish clear the water and wiggle thru the air. Anyhow, they seem to be hanging out in different areas than last year. Not long after casting our feeders and hair rigs out there, we began to see line rubs and activity. We each ended up with one fish. Bly's was a 17 1/2 pounder....and mine ended up at 19 3/4 pounds. We decided to show a different side of these big fish....are these faces only a mother could love??? LOL. (I mean the fish......no smart remarks here....)

What??? I decide to take a little more time with pics and get this flack??? LOL. Ok...now that was hilarious. Things don't always go that smoothly...we usually keep the oldest and youngest apart from eachother.....hehe. She has decided to keep the barbie one as a back up....but you can get one for him at Canadian Tire....maybe I'll just buy him a new one..... Thanks...hope to see you out a few times this year as well! Good luck to you and your family as well. Thanks for noticing....LOL. I caught a few fish, but to be honest, the report was about the kids... Ok...I got outfished...happy now??

I was in the same situation as you last fall. I had a line on a few trailers, and brought fishnsled along with me to inspect them. He brought a jack and tested the wheels/bearings. As it turned out, the trailer, which at first glance looked good needed all new bearings, and had quite a bit of rust under the new paint job. I ended up buying a brand new one at a marina on Rice Lake.....it was around 800 bucks brand new.

You went somewhere? LOL...great pics TJ...thanks for that link. Looked like you had a great time...and had GREAT weather! Welcome back...even if you don't really wanna be here.....hehe.
