Dax...my wife bought me the Canon Powershot A540 for Christmas. I really like it and a BIG step up from my Kodax 210Plus. It's 6 megapixal and 4 x optical zoom. I'd love some more zoom on it...but it's simple to operate in auto. Has appature and speed priority, manual settings, portrait, landscape, night setting etc. that I still need to figure out. Also does short video clips (1 minute on high definition and longer on lower settings).

Question is...is it "voluntary" for the establishment to charge it....or "voluntary" for you to pay it??

Last thing I'd be worried about on a fishin trip would be to watch guys pound the sheet out of each other...unless of course it was over the one women in camp or something......

Just thought I'd let you guys that plan to hit Algonquin know that I just talked to a customer tonight with an island cottage on Aylen Lake (East of the park by Barry's Bay)..that was x-country skiing on the lake yesterday. 2 inches of snow on 8 inches of good hard ice. Ice out may be delayed a tad more than you like. Same deal up in Temagami..... They thought it would be out by next week..third week in April at the latest, but now looks like first or second week of May.

anyone familiar with the 9.5hp johnsons?
irishfield replied to BFSC Kevin's topic in General Discussion
Are you sure it was far enough under water? Also, not sure if the johnson is like the older 9.8 merc I have...but it has a thermostat and only starts to "pee" out that lower hole in the cowl once it's up to temperature. As for the turn to fast..with it not running..put it in forward gear and see if you can then turn it all the way to fast. Many are limited in neutral and reverse. -
Sounds like the land owner asked for him to be charged Steve...or I'm sure the hunter wouldn't have called in himself. He was confronted and called to confirm his fait. I know the OPP can't lay a tresspassing charge unless the property owner demands it and suspect the MNR is no different....thus why I told our local CO years ago to proceed on sight with my blessing.... to curb the poacher/tresspasser types we have in this area. So Brian...when you come for those turkeys...dont' forget to get me to give you a permission letter or bring the OFAH forms.

It looks like it may have been getting out of hand Brian (the announce section..not the Mercer post itself).....people like me posting stuff like the availablity of a limited edition boat etc and various other posts that I'm pretty sure weren't the intended purpose of the announce section. I wondered when the announce section was first put up, and it had the "may have the smell of spam" warning on it, how long it would last as an open post forum. It now has the following disclaimer on it, "You'll find announcements for fishing events, TV shows, meetings and sales in here. Caution: May Contain Advertising. New announcements require administrator approval", so it's like being on Mod que. Post your announcement and someone will screen it before it goes out to the world. I can understand this whole heartedly and my suggestion to you..... if you'd like to comment on the mercer thread.... would be to highlight/copy and paste it to start a new thread in the General Discussion area. Wayne

Steve...even if your buddy says "he knows the guy and has permission to fish here", he didn't get permission for you and thus you'd be tresspassing. The CO up here, Wayne Lintack, knows that if he finds anyone on my property hunting and they can't produce written permission that he has my blessing to charge them with hunting on private property without permission. Probably falls under the same/similar regs that allows them to charge US citizens with tresspassing for camping on Crown Land without a permit. OFAH has a nice simple two part permission form that covers both hunting and fishing.

Great stuff Mike !! and Bernie is my first stop next trip North to pick up some stuff there and if time permits a tour of those beautiful boats as well. Old school done RIGHT..gotta love it. I've got a couple trees about that size around down up behind my cottage, from the same storm. Future firewood and we got lucky.... Many cottages further up the lake got split in half from old growth falling on them.

Yep...they're still walking on Lake Temagami Mike. Probably some still driving on it! Ice doesn't generally go out till first week of May. Last year April 21st was the earliest in recorded history for a clear lake.

Go on a BOQ trip with Dano and Terry. The adrenalin will take care of it for you until it's time to go home.... Well that and the muscle relaxers! Seriously, I've lived with it for decades, born with an incomplete L4. Wallet in back pocket is a big one as Pigeontroller points out. Sit upright, not slouched over. If you are working in your shop have rubber mats down around your work area and if you stand as a machine operator at work or similar be sure to ask for the same. Your employer will more than likely buy you some matting , vs the WSIB pier rate increase that will go on next years payment rate on everyones gross pay after you've claim WSIB. I'm terrible for neglecting my back...but the less you do the worse it actually is in most cases so keep active.

I'm thinkin both teams can get a group rate on some course Mike !
