  1. Some great fishies there Jack !
  2. See you there guys! I'm off to a good start.. got a speeding ticket coming back from Pearson Airport tonight.
  3. Thanks !
  4. ..yah Roy... it was a fine time for the "novelty" shop to be out of Maid outfits!
  5. Surely over 5 days of fishing.... Lloyd can throw at least one your way dishman! lmao !
  6. By 4pm tomorrow I'll have the power on.... the place heating up... in time for Lloyd and Keith's arrival at 10. Dano will be in early Thur am and the stragglers (Terry and Headhunter) will be in by noon. Guest appearance by Moosebunk mid afternoon if all goes as planned. They're (we're lol) like a bunch of kids on their way to disneyland..... we're gonna have a riot! The joys of OFC and putting together a great bunch of fishing buddies over the last few years. Look out Lake T.. here we come !
  7. At least I know who 12foot belongs to now! lol You two did well in comparison to most of us out there! On that argo fisherman.. what's the regs on it... licence plate/ownership/insurance. Same as a sled.. same as an ATV... same as a boat.. or .. lol
  8. Unfortunately.. Muskie won't be open in late May. You'z gonna be fishing Pickeral and Pike only Snag ! And Memquisit is actually right by the West Arm... just a couple miles, if that, from hwy 64 and Lakair Lodge. Nice sheltered area off Nippissing to Fish, but a pretty good run to get into the French.
  9. That's perfect Pete... you put the first scratch in the side of her with a believer and then I'll go the next trip when Lew's cooled off !
  10. NO.. we were out there in a van Saturday....ice was perfectly safe (as ice can be). Some pressure cracks were getting questionable when we came back in and some refreeze spots looked iffy so you just don't drive on them. Looks like he drove into a pressure crack area where the ice got pushed down (what he's sitting on) and it refroze above it.. but not solid. He went thru the refreeze and is sitting on the original ice (that is most likely over 14 inches thick.)
  11. LOL... Joe and Roy! lol Tough keeping the days straight of a TWO day work week isn't it Joe! lmao
  12. All Leah's Opa ever used ! Legal.. probably not these days. IN 2006 they were trying to make any fish parts illegal as they did with any fish over 5.1" for bait on Lake Temagami. http://www.mnr.gov.on.ca/STEL02_178932.pdf
  13. What a great day Sinker!!!
  14. Yet marinas spill gallons of gas in the water every day filling boats. That things not deep enough for either the fuel tank or engine oil to be discharged by (heavier specific gravity) water. Sunk boats at docks cause more damage than that thing is right now.
  15. No.. I use 30 for downrigging Lake Trout. For Musky I use 65 and 80.
  16. I don't understand it still being there. A small tow truck and an ice anchor and it would have been out.. before it froze in. Even an A frame to get some angle advantage and a 2 ton winch.
  17. What I like about using the PPro is almost no bow back... considering the small diameter in comparison to similar lb test mono.
  18. The way it goes.. did he drive you out in the Bombardier?
  19. I just fill them (mine are 209's) full of PPro from 1500 yard spools. Probably be smart if I started using 1/2 mono and top half PP considering the # of rigging rods/reels I seem to be collecting. You'd be smart too with those 309's holding so much line. 350 yards of 30 lb mono = a LOT of power pro.
  20. I have 30 lb power pro on all my Penns for downrigging Lakers. Water body may determine what you can use etc depending on spiny water fleas etc. I find they shake off the Power pro pretty easy if you get them as they stack up at the rod tip.
  21. Great stuff Tom !
  22. But Lew... is it riveted or welded? Congrats fella.. looks like a nice ride and good to see you've reached my age and need a windshield and top ! lol That 80lb will be plenty misfish! My 75 motorguide pulls my boat at 4.7MPH !
  23. Thanks bud... now that rounds out a great fishing report!
  24. Sounds like some great action Stan... and a nice Laker toooo !
  25. Did you have a Jr moment too bud.. and blacked out! lol I only saw to lap 50 before leaving for skiing. I would have tapped Kyle in the early laps when he almost caught Jr's nose jumpin lane to lane. I think I recorded it.. will have to check out this Jr. brain fart later today ! lol
