  1. ...should have been a dead give away G... being right beside a river and all !!
  2. Could you check that patent number again Rob? 261546 is a 1888 patent for a hyrdrocarbon generator. If I can find if the patent is still in force, or not in force.. might be something worth making a mould for at the plant.
  3. They're great to take... pop top cans !!! Foam.. Scugog... it's just the pipe wrap foam with the slit. You just loop the cable around once on a piece about 10" long.. and you can slip the cable up/down so it hangs just below the ice. ..and that style of plastic box even has a little flip compartment on the top.. fits a fillet knife perfectly!!
  4. Here's mine.. holds two 8ah batteries and leaves enough room to put eveything in the box when done fishing. Ram mount ball bolted to top corner of case and a universal joiner. 102C is off the bow of my Lund. I have it wired with sockets on the case to plug my 12v-1000ma charger into the case and also so I can plug it in, to the heated helmut RCA cord, when moving on my sled . Here's a clearer shot..
  5. That's what I always like about you Rich... you tell it like it is!!!
  6. Great stuff Simon.. love it when the aquarium is free to view!
  7. You could also cast open water right at Carleton Jason.. under the Bronson St Bridge.. there's eyes in there..
  8. Sorry guys.. but the lunatic fringe doesn't stop at the border. It's not like we haven't had our own similar nut jobs up here..
  9. A GREAT year for you Pete!!!!
  10. You mean a PATTERN protection don't you Kelvin..
  11. Yes it is Brian.. Crohn's and Colitis fund raiser in Barrie. Same place as last year, Friday Feb 18th @ 8pm. They need all the help they can get raising funds. They've tried to get on the LCBO / BEER store rotation for the... "would you like to donate $2".. but have been denied... unlike Cancer, Sick Kids , etc. All great causes that need research money, but Crohn's is always left with the short straw.
  12. Kelvin.. see if your wife can get a script for Stemetil (anti-nausea pill), for when she goes home. It's been MIA at the pharmacies for almost 4 months... but it just came in (at least at Mt Sinai) on Tuesday.
  13. Can't beat a +8 to 10C day on New Years eve!! Some great fish there..
  14. Jacque brings up some good points.. and you know I've also found that the ones that rant the most about nobody replying to their threads... rarely reply to other members threads! It's called retribution.
  15. I was going on a fishing trip one time and told my wife to pack my silk boxers. When I got back I told her that she forgot to pack them and she said crap... they're in your tackle box !
  16. You looks so sad all the time Dan ... look around you, you deserve to smile 24/7 !!
  17. Don't let it bother you Mike.. I know it's hard. I've had some threads that took me 3 hours or more to put together that got less than a dozen replies. It certainly does make you wonder why you bothered in the first place. Then some guy just finishes his drug deal I mean sandwich.. gets a gun shoved in his nose and it goes 12 pages..
  18. ..and the beat goes on..
  19. I jumped to the ice lines at first.. found them (mono) to be crap. If you need the blue to see your line.. that's all they are good for. I went back to the same Trilene I fish with in the summer in 6 and 8 lb depending on the targeted species and I have one rod with Powerpro ice on it for in the hut when fishing deep.
  20. He gave his camera away... it's in the Mississauga sorting station right now... Great to see hear you were out Cliff..
  21. It definitely is the way to get a lake to yourself Splash.. no doubt about it!
  22. Weight foot print of a small airplane on skis is less than me on my boots.. I'll find you a picture of how to bring one back up, they only go to the wings (and trap you inside). This is a current customer of mine. He did this way back at the start of his aviation career.. he just retired at 60 this past August. It was very early ice and he had just dropped off a couple mining guys that were egar to get to a test site... and Reid was leaning against the propellor making sure they got to shore when it went thru ! A good thing he hadn't just jumped back in and fired her up! They came back two weeks later.. cut the ice around it and built a pole tripod to bring it up with chain fall.. slid some logs under the skis across the hole... drained a few things (floor to clear cables and pulleys) quickly before it all froze.. tarped it.. heated/changed fluids and flew it home. Ice was so thin it didn't even bend the wing lift struts.
  23. Now I know why Brian is missing getting so many in the "net".. Leaf gloves...
