Hit and Run (Vehicle to Vehicle no pedestrians)
irishfield replied to Nemo's topic in General Discussion
It is definitely illegal to back onto a "Kings highway". I don't know about any other road, but a highway definitely. The police use to sit in Bailieboro and wait for people to back out onto 28 all the time from the post office (my sister's mother-in-law was the post master).. and my sister finally put a turn around T in her laneway next door to m-in-laws to avoid getting fined herself. -
Geoff.. at least we now know all of the OFC'rs that don't have much to do in a day and their health is up to snuff... to be able debate what may become the longest thread in OFC history.. On the other hand we have a couple OFC members that are down and out. I won't say their names, as I don't have permission to make their situation's public, but we have one getting some bones fused together today. Another that damn near died this week from an allergy to the anti-infection medicine that they had him on, for the infection he's had in his leg for almost a year. Another Doctor saved his ass... literally.. as while performing another procedure he found that he was just days away from death. Maybe we could steer some energy from the police thread over to passing on good thoughts for these two regulars around here!

.. because they would have said... "were you hanging out with so and so again?"
-
..but they can't be toooo warm, as he also walks thru the Eaton Centre looking for stretchy pants!!
-
Good thing we kept the gate locked, when I had myself and two old guys on D5 dozers doing our runway!!
-
..and the majority of them put their vehicles in an Ontario number company or their wive's name so they are not bound by their oath to stop at an accident scene... or the target of thieves hoping their medical bag is in the vehicle.

I have no idea... they just all do it! lol ... I don't really see it as sport either, but if it's hunting legally.. just like keeping a legal size muskie for the wall... who am I to question and judge.

I have no bias either.. both my Mother and my sister were RN's. Like any profession.. there is the good, the bad and the ugly. Jennifer has a few of the greatest nurses I've ever met. Happy and chipper 12 hours at a time, joking and carrying on when they bring in their chemo bags/syringes and with what they see on a daily basis I bet they go home and cry for the next 12 hours. Then there are the few that really fit the bill as the ugly.... no bed side manner.. "lie there and shut up.. I could give a crap if your dying" types... Find another job, tomorrow, PLEASE! Or Leah and Jen's family Doctor that skipped oncol protocol and didn't bother to call Jennifer's Mount Sinai Oncology Doctor when she was admitted just before Christmas for fever.... because his wife had cancer (died) and he knows EVERYTHING. His ass and ego is a tad sore this week... after the oncol's phone call to him Wednesday morning that started with "who the ... do you think you are screwing with my protocol".. "I don't give a rats ass if you think you know what you're doing as a GP.. your wife had Breast Cancer, not Sarcoma".. and then he closed his office door, unfortunately..

twocoda... you'd better read those regs again.. either that or every deer hunter in Simcoe county is probably hunting illegally... Carrot piles,, apple piles.. pumpkins from Halloween... etc.

I'd like to start a thread about some Nurses and Doctors that should choose another profession... but my blood pressure would rise...

Great things we have hidden in our garage

The blue car Brad was looking for.. lots of memories inside those doors!! 1969 Dodge Superbee COUPE (the rear windows flip out.. not roll down), Ramcharger hood, 383 Magnum, 4 gear standard, 2:73:1 rear end, bench seat and all numbers matching except the rear axle. Father bought it new off the show room floor in 1969 and promptly ditched it at 140 mph bending the K frame/control arms. Parked "the deathtrap" for many years until I convinced him I could fix it and drive it better than he could.. when I was 16/17. Dropped a new K frame in it from a charger and proceeded to put 45,000 miles on it before I parked it when I got married in '82. In storage for about 7 years before I did a total restoration on it and started driving and showing it again (been at World of Wheels Oshawa with my Superbird). Car has been radar'd at 181 MPH on CTC Tornado tires!! For those that wonder what that looks like.. the speedo goes to 150 has a blank spot and we had the needle around the 15 mph mark on the other side. Telephone poles look like a picket fence.... -

I've got 3 bottles of El Dorado Deluxe Silver left Terry... drive fast...

No Buster.. definitely not.. 46,000 original miles and painted once around '88/89. It actually should be an Alpine White car, but the previous owner painted it yellow (dumbass). By Bee is blue..

Are they like hunting Caribou... if you spook them and they start heading away, you just drop to the ground and they will come back to see what they saw!!
-
There is only one year for the Superbird.. 1970..
-
What.. you can't keep them..

Exactly Grimace, I was riding with a cousin that's a cop and he was nailed for speeding. After taking the ticket he said to the officer... "thanks, I'll do the same for you some day and showed him his ID". Officer said why didn't you show me that before I wrote you up and my cousin asked him if "we" were above the law! I do have a funny though... I took my Superbird to a meeting at the Brampton Airpark a few years back. Leaving later than I wanted too... I was moving pretty good up airport road heading home and got nailed by a cop with radar sitting on a cross road. When he finally caught up to me and I pulled over he said.. "Jesus lad.. let me see your pilots licence" and I pulled it out and handed it to him. He couldn't keep his composure and handed it back to me, went back to his car and pulled a U turn and left !!
-
Feels GREAT... don't it !! Thanks for the report.
-

-

Yep.. daughter just went thru this with Leah's truck. Looks like nothing.. but bumper cover/bumper reinforce and a signal light with paint on the cover add up to $2445 with Ford parts.. $1600 with aftermarket. Off to the reporting centre for your neighbour, if by chance the other guy shows up there and reports the accident your neighbour will be charged with failure to do the same. 3 demerit points and possible fines. It takes so little these days.. this is $2445 in damage with ford parts and the fender isn't ding! -
At least you know what parking lot you can buy crack or coke in now... Obvious the right place.. wrong time for you..
