  1. Jesus lad.. where ya been for a year..
  2. Nice Rob.. great you got out on the waters.
  3. HTHM.. you realize voting for your second choice just insures your first choice doesn't get in correct?
  4. We (5) all voted last Saturday. Jennifer and I stood in the advance poll line for over 40 minutes, with Jennifer tiring quickly as time went on and an older gentleman getting up and offering her the only spare chair in the place. If she can find the energy to exercise her civil liberty I challenge every one of you to get off your arse and vote. No "party of choice" in our household, they're all old enough to give it some thought themselves. Just because your father voted for a specific party doesn't mean it was a good thing !
  5. Like Bill says.. and you also know what "they" say.... "It's better the Devil you know, than the Devil you don't".
  6. ..and here I thought he died of TB 4 years ago..
  7. That's a GOOD thing Dave. Don't ever get comfortable out there!!! I've been boating it for 30 years now and the chart is always in the boat and open to the right page, even with the moving map going.
  8. LOL Ron.. we saw snow out on GBay today as well.. it's still around.
  9. Phil loves to see the float plane pilot sweat while he lands between the ice sheets!
  10. You and Connie have fun Phil!!! Try to keep up to the young lad this time eh...
  11. Ah.. YES.. read the manual and follow the rpm suggestions as close as you can.
  12. TJ's is a secret family recipe.. first you powder up XXXXXX, mix in YYYYY and then you add ZZZZZZ... (but it's the only way I cook fish now!)
  13. As Dax points out.. if your charging circuit is working properly on your outboard there should be no reason to be using an onboard charger for it's cranking battery/accessory battery. The motor should have it fully topped by the time you get back to the dock/trailer.
  14. Great stuff RC !!! What a weekend out for ya! If you're up there again... I'll shamelessly plug my sister-in-laws "Manitoulin Resort" as a place to stay. It's on Lake Manitou, but close enough to the main lake if you wanted some better accoms.
  15. Got out today, for the GBay opener, with GBFisher and Meegs. We took Andy's boat for a GOOD season opener first run. A good 1hr and a half run it was. GREAT care must be taken this time of year on Georgian Bay... channel markers missing... some snapped off at the water surface by ice or just simply moved thousands of feet out of position. We had a few tense moments with a couple of shoals... but the boat survived the day just fine. Now if Andy didn't know the water like the back of his hand it may have been ugly. Great run to the fishing grounds in Andy's 2150 Baron. That Yammy runs nice. I could live with one of those if I didn't have my Verado. Meegs watching for rocks as we make the final trek into a long bay, through a shallow area. Once in there the wind was wicked for boat control, but we all managed fish. I only took a picture of one fish each as I was losing too much fishing time taking pictures with double and triple headers in the boat going on. I lost count of how many pike were boated in total, let alone how many hits and lost fish. I've never seen so many pike in one location. A couple OOS species as well, that I won't post... The trip back to dock was a tad brutel... running against 3 to 5 footers. My backs gonna be a tad tender come morning.. I know that right now, just deciding on which route of pain killer to start with! Thanks for the day out lads... much appreciated and truly needed on my part, probably yours toooo ! I've really gotta thank Andy for pestering me for the last month or more to come out with him and keeping this spot open for me right to the last minute! Thanks Bud !
  16. Sorry Cliff.. tell him to suck it up and move on. Life is too short to dwell. Take what ever Taladaga offers and carry on. A weeks work lost can't hurt the pocket that much in comparison to the gas to drive to Taladaga @ 1.35 / litre, let alone tickets for the race.
  17. Have you not get that thing wet yet??? WTH ?
  18. Shouldn't have any issue with anyone running into you on a misty morning Paul ! She's bright enough that you should be able to get an extra hour of fishing in after sunset!! Congrats!
  19. Bounce sheets, moth balls, soap.. I've tried them all over the 30 years or so that I've stored classic cars. The mice could give a rats ass about any of these "deterants".
  20. Gonna have to start cutting that lawn soon !! Great day out Geoff !
  21. Run into this quite often with airplanes Vince... and in many cases when guys plumb their back up electric in series with the mechanical it can work as a two stage pump.. the electric gives the first 5 psi and then the mechanical increases it beyond the acceptable pressure for the carb float needle and they flood. Another issue is you really have no redundancy as if the mechanical pump blows a diaphram.. all the electric is going to do is spray fuel faster thru it and out the vent hole. I prefer a parallel dual fuel pump set up, but it requires check valves to make if function properly and safely. Still not sure I understand why you're doing this? The filter is built into the electric pump??.. why not just install a filter if that's what you're really after?
  22. Do I have to call anyone before I play my Intelevison Pong again???
