  1. You pull a permit for that wiring?? .. and no GFCI... Same can crusher I have at the camp!
  2. As I noted to revive this thread yesterday.. it's not called Navico anymore.. Lowrance is sending you to "CMC Electronics", although it appears to be one and the same.. maybe.. with Dino still the "go to" guy.
  3. LOL Jacques... the "video game" helps put in the day! Guess I was a week off on the hockey "rinks"... someone just practicing I guess.. it's this weekend on Sparrow for Princess Margaret Foundation. Their games are still on, while the deal at Deerhurst Resort is totally cancelled after some of their clearing equipment went through the ice yesterday!
  4. Eddie Shack put his name on a small chain of donut stores. Now whether he actually owned any of them.. he probably doesn't even remember!
  5. I've heard of most Scottsman being cheap... but never refered to as Pirates !!
  6. Yes... my Mag 10's are positive ion / auto stops... although I feel I've caught less fish since going to them from manuals. My boat has + 0.5 volts it's own.... wish my riggers had an output control so I could turn them up/down/off to see if it makes a difference. There is a cannon with just such on it and I probably should have had Bay Distributors modify them when he was putting new boards in both of mine from a lightning strike.
  7. MY MY Bob.. does that Toyota drink oil or does it burn it?? I've never put a drop of oil in my '90 TBird Supercoupe, 95 GMC Sierra,98 GMC Sierra, 2003 F150, 2011 F150, any of Leah's numerous Suburbans or her current 2003 Sportrac.... between any of their recommended oil changes!
  8. Like Dax says.. it's a personal thing Peter. I like my Cannons but I have lots of gunnel to swing all 4 of them in for docking. Other guys like other models for various reasons. Some fold up and stand up straight, some run on belts, some are nice an shinny!
  9. I use to put packing tape across the kids diapers.. so we could refasten them after checking and finding them dry. Who would have thought that patent would be worth anything.....
  10. yah got that right John!!! If they didn't send me that crap I'd having nothing to start my shop stove every morning and have to revert to gasoline !!
  11. A Pantara but you're pretty good on the rest Skip!
  12. Missed the Canadian citizen thing... but if he's strictly using a US drivers licence.. ID etc and is using a Non ontario citizen fishing licence he's golden. Now if he pops out an Ontario Outdoors card and a resident fishing licence...
  13. The rule goes something like you can only use your USA registered boat in Canada for 45 days... but if I look around our lake and all the pigeon holes at the marina, many have been here for decades registered in Ohio, Michigan and the likes. Gets them out of needing a boaters card, meeting our safety regs, etc. I sure wouldn't be reregistering it if I was him.
  14. You would think Dan.. but last time I looked at it (probably 2 miles from home) she was sitting right at 78 where it always does. Line hadn't broken right off.. it was cracked and fell off just by touching it...LIGHTLY.
  15. Sorry for the confusion... I should know better than popping up an 8 month old post. Just wanted to show that Lowrance is now showing a new repair facility represents them in Canada... that is a Raymarine Dealer. (although who knows these days... it may very well still be Navico under a new name)
  16. Interesting that Lowrance now tells you to contact CMC Electronics for Canadian service... especially since they're a Raymarine Dealer!
  17. Current is 20 SW there.. 40 SW here.. and a lot of "bumps" in between. Who knows what it will really be in 6 days!
  18. If the 40K wind is correct.. you wont see me fella!
  19. Made arrangements to meet up with Lloyd on Sunday over Coboconk way. He heard me coming off in the distance and was nice enough to get some holes drilled for me to use. Unfortunately my, ever trustworthy, Lowrance 102C decided to let me down and wouldn't power up. Not an issue, Lloyd had just bought a 67 off someone (to have as a spare) and let me use it for the day. Lots of fish marked.. and chasing our baits, but they won and we went home skunked but a great day out on the ice. (I'd better correct that.. I got skunked.. Lloyd got an OOSSMB) On the way home I had to wonder who was winning the last round of hockey on Sparrow Lake, raising money for Princess Margaret's Sarcoma unit. Once I'd settled down from the "interesting" landing, in 40 gusting 55 here in the yard, and then finding oil pouring out of my engine compartment, which took 1/2 a gallon of varisol to clean off the belly of the plane.... I decided that I didn't have much to lose, with the 102C not working, and tore it apart. Found some light corrosion on a few circuit board joints that appeared to be bridging a few spots on the board. Cleaned the board all up with some alcohol and Q tips, scubbing all the joints clean. NOW... if you're gonna do something like this, stop now and put it back together!!! If I had of I'd have a nice working unit again.. but NO.. NO.. not Wayne, I had to see what everything else was about and got stupid and tore apart the "tin can". Unfortunately when I did this the double sided tape in there pulled and stretched the gell cell somewhat. I cleaned it up and put it back together and ended up with this... damaged pixel cells. If I hadn't pulled this apart she'd be just like new again... but now I've buggered the lower corner of the screen so I can't see the real time bar on the right side. I can still use it on split screen and use the zoom side, but not gonna be nice. So with a big trip in the works in three weeks, I jumped on ebay and found another 102C for $200.. hope it gets here QUICK. I've also found a supplier for the PD050OX1(LF) screen in China.. but I have to buy two of them.. $104 in my hands, once they get back from Chineese New Year! ... or does anyone know a local source (digi-key, newark, mouser are negatives)
  20. Except for the part about using pressure treated wood.. sorry Justin.
  21. Mike.. in the airplane world it should be common knowledge that a restrictor is required at the case to oil line fitting, but many AME's and homebuilders are unaware. Most just grab a common 1/8 NPT fitting and throw it in there to hook up to, if the original lyco fitting isn't there or they decide to not use it.
  22. Thanks for the tip / concern, but with 27 years of running a plastic injection moulding company previously "ingested"... 10 cans of Chef Boy R D per year ain't gonna change me much !
