  1. All that nice white powdering looking stuff around the cleat mounts. Corrosion.. under the paint. In this case probably because you leave a rope on the cleat.. = wet = water getting under the stainless cleat + alum and stainless = a battery of sorts.. = corrosion under the paint. That cleat has to come off... all the corrosion cleaned up.. repainted and when the cleat goes back down some sealer or epoxy chromate on the cleat bolts to keep them isolated from the aluminum.
  2. If you wanna make it go faster Nick... I have a bunch of aircraft engine valve springs here... lol
  3. Funny.. my new 3 year card has that ugly Musky food picture on it!
  4. You'll need to find someone with a PPG paint rail... and that's getting harder and harder to do with most guys being forced to switch over to water based systems. Even my little local guy has changed over and I've lost my PPG source. edit.. and now that I've looked at the picture... you need to get that filiform corrosion issue in check and FAST!
  5. Great to have a Doctor that is also a personal friend and airplane nut. House call today... and everything looks GREAT with Jen's healing. Rob will be by the house again next Thursday to take her 50+ staples out... doesn't want her going any where near a germ filled hospital!
  6. Yet they don't even teach you how to start a motor.. let alone drive the boat! Makes me feel really safe! I thought "don't pay to you pass" had been outlawed!! Oh....and why not just print your own cards, there's no registry!!
  7. If you're going that route.... install the barrels under the dock perpendicular to the dock length. Use seatbelt webbing, or cable, and run it around a support.. and then around each barrel at the narrow points at top and bottom.. then over a support.. then over the next barrel.. etc. That way you can roll the dock in and out of the water simply by leaving the straps/cables just slightly loose. This allows the barrels to roll, but still be retained.
  8. Renewed in December.. got card in early January. eazy peazy.. give'm a call to see where yours is. I shreaded my printouts but I don't remember an expiry date on them...
  9. Who needs reality TV?? Just bring both families (the one shot at ex grounds and the shooters, that were then shot by police) to the same trauma / neuro floor..

Exactly Albert.. kid shot in leg had his leg amputated Sunday night and we spent a fair amount of time talking with his family members. 6 or 7 TO officers and 3 security guards to keep families seperated. As if there isn't enough going on.. on the trauma floor!

Fight's between the families.. while other families nerves were shattered enough without the nonsense.

  10. Thanks Folks! We're all at home.. in Penetang.. as of about 4:45pm after being discharged around 11am this morning. Now patiently waiting, a week or more, to here from pathology and her Oncologist to see where she goes from here out.
  11. I hope it tasted better than the beer!! A nice Boddington's Pub Draft would have gone nicely with that....
  12. Thanks folks. Head drains came out this morning... CT scan this afternoon and she was up out of bed to hit the can on her own, on crutches of course. Had to explain to her nurse last night why that wasn't happening yesterday...with an IV pole still hooked to her. She'd read her chart... but had no idea what an internal hemi-pelvectomy was!
  13. Thanks everyone!! Moved out of Neuro ICU to the Neuro floor mid day today. She can sit up.. eat.. talk and most importantly right now sleep. Might go home this weekend, but all depends on when the drain is taken out of her head. From there... she may still have a long road to pave yet unfortunately.
  14. Positive thoughts Simon!!! Positive thoughts. An ex- girlfriend... from when we were both 15... at 18 years old she got caught in the PTO on her fathers tractor while bringing in the hay, shattering her skull and most bones in her body. Parents told she'd never come out of the coma.. she did.. 14 months later. Told she'd never walk... she did.. a few years later. Finally got a knee joint just a year ago October .. darn near 32 years later! Happy with what she's worked her way through and where she's got in life. I wish your son the best.. and that he's out of this coma SOON!
  15. Thanks for all the thoughts folks... got her through another day. Double the time expected for surgery today... in Neuro ICU for the night. Will have more info in the days to come.

  17. That's the only correct answer... but I've heard and seen many others in partially drilled holes waiting for spring thaw. Walk to shore and hang your over a log.. well back from the waters edge.
  18. Mix some fresh 24:1 and give it a pull... then go cut holes in the ice!
  19. Gee Jim.. we've missed your charm around here!!
  20. Yet you have an owl living right across the road from the house... LOL Nice Hun!
  21. Great videos and some wonderful fish!!! You're like Lloyd.. 3" at best of ice and you're trying to melt your way through with the heater!! LOL !!
  22. There's a 25 Honda in the classifieds... needs the bottom end inspected and a piece of alum welded on for a skeg... $1200 or BO. If I had time it would be gone already..
  23. Both just worked for me. If it effects you and you normally fish in there..... jump up and speak out. Don't let the P3TA members "protecting" the wildlife of the park make any forward progress.
