Dont believe everything you here down there, and please dont post reports on how the fishing is!! the crowds down there are BRUTAL especially with this warm weather. If im anticipating crowds ill eat a crap load of home made chili the night before fishing, tends to keep everyone at a fair distance

Hey yall, hope everyone enjoying this weather!! I know I am!! I managed to make it out to the river twice this week with some great results in my books. I went 6 for 10 in total, loosing one fish to a SPOOLING! A huge buck that could have been my new pb took me far downstream below a set of rapids. I was very cautiously attempting to cross, and just as I was about 75% across the deep fast water i looked up at my rod only to see the last of my line leaving the last few line guides!!! I couldn't believe it! Good thing my vest or back pack ALWAYS has at least two different spools of line in it. The next day I had the same thing happen only the water was higher and faster so crossing was impossible so I had to intentionally loose the fish before I got spooled again Thankfully I managed to unhook the fish which was roughly 40 yards downstream of me by letting out a bunch of slack line and then reeling it back it very slowly letting the fish and current jostle that hook loose. Here are some pics of the fish I managed to get to the bank. Very mixed bag of fish as in fresh chrome and darker ones. The buck in the picture was actually fully spawned out! His belly was very rough and you could tell it was empty. Mike Tight lines nd floats down!

Wont see the suckers for atleast another month. All you need for bait is worms or even bread! I have caught quite a few 5-6 pounders on leftover pizza crust! Just use an egg sinker and leave your bait right on the bottom they will come for it

everything you were doing sounds about right for this time of year. Just keep at it and eventually something will be tugging on the end of your line!!

Thank god its illegal. Otherwise every trophy fish that is ever caught would turn into a "trophy" and sold to somebody who wants a good story to tell to his buddies. Pics are good enough for me no need to kill a fish and keep it as a decoration.

What a great site I wish I knew of this last year! I now know of a half dozen lakes that are a 10 minute dirt bike ride away from my 100 acre getaway that have a nice variety of species. Now im really itching for the warm weather to get here so I can get out and explore!!

Usually I would be saying bring on the soft water, because Ive never been ice fishing, but after buying my first ice combo this year and reading up on ice fishing, I want this ice to stay until I can atleast get out for my first time even if its for perch.

looking for good fishing in the GTA? Get yourself a good noodle rod and head down to your closest river (if its open for fishing). We are very lucky to have such an amazing fishery on our doorstep!

Thanks. I can assure everyone here I am NOT fishing bronte, I havent fished it since new years eve. I would never do something as stupid as fishing closed water, especially when ive seen CO's parked at the qew on 2 separate occasions since the creek closed. I would rather pay 10 bucks in gas to fish legally than walk to a closed river and risk loosing hundreds of dollars in gear and even more in fines.

Yes he is, and im not sure what is causing all this. I would never do something so stupid! All my fishing in 2012 has been done on a river that is open ALL YEAR so I dont know whats bringing these accusations on but its pretty ridiculous. After all ive learned from this forum I figured Id return the favor and post reports of how Im progressing as a steelheader and show you guys some nice fish but theres always gonna be people trying to rain on your parade....

Was a beauty day today weather wise and the fishin was just as good! I went 4 for 7, my best day yet steelheading so far. Im dead set on mastering fishing top-waters for bass and pike this summer. Ive never hooked a fish fishing top waters but have had plenty of misses! I also want to catch my first resident trout, my family has a 100 acre propery in grey county with the rocky saugeen flowing through it, and after about 15 years of camping up there ive still never been able to trick one of these gems. Tons of bass in the near-by lakes though if the trout continue to ignore me this year
