I think that upon applying for a fishing licence, reading the entire regulation book should me mandatory. Most people dont know the fishing seasons and fish OOS all the time.

PIKE AND WALLEYE ARE OUT OF SEASON RIGHT NOW! AND WILL BE THIS SATURDAY! before you bought your fancy fish finder and gps, you should have looked at the fishing regs that were most likely available for free wherever you bought your kayak and fishfinder, like the rest of us and you would see pike and walleye dont open until mid may. You wouldnt want to get out on the lake and have the mnr come take all your new stuff would you? Edit: also not a good idea asking for specific spots on lakes that are within an hour away from the GTA. If there are any sweet spots on that lake, nobody is going to give them up

Holy moly i had no idea they got that big! The biggest ive had so far this year was about 5 pounds

So i decided to see if I could fool a steelhead with a spinner this morning. Success!! After having 3 fish spit my lure while they were in mid-air I managed to land this guy. Defiantly a challenge fighting these fish on a 6ft medium action rod with a med-light action reel! Cant wait for next weekend, im getting sick of the crowds and the mess!! Every time ive been fishing the last few weeks ive brought a grocery bag with me and every time ive left with it full of garbage! Most of it being worm containers and other fishing related garbage!!

hahaha yea id like to hear what u have to say. 5 pound smallies! no way man absolutely no way. I have also never seen a perch or smallie in there and ive spent well over 80 hours fishing that pond in the last 4 years. As for fishing there being illegal, its less than 200 yards away from a state of the art police station im sure if we were breaking the law someone would walk over and tell us to leave. Either way im gonna miss that place a lot. Theres a pic of an average sized bass from the pond, ive never seen one much bigger than that but they were a blast on light action or 6wt fly rods and when you usually catch over 20 of em in 2 hours

Well, another one of the very few places in oakville i like to spend my days at is now gone. After the dirtbike track and trails have been dug up I figured the development of this town hit me where it hurt the most. WRONG. A little pond on the south east corner of 6th line and dundas, which boasted great numbers of LMB and crappies, is going to be drained and filled in for a school to be built. Some of my most exciting fishing memories are from this pond including numerous double headers and even a handful of triples. In its prime the pond would reward me with a fish every other cast every evening and morning. But after the construction began near the pond last spring, last summers fishing had been terrible with only 3 fish caught in 5 trips down there. The pond was never a spot where you would expect to catch a trophy but fish after fish in the 1-1.5# range all day was always enough for me. Its a shame the pond is gone it was so close to home. O well i guess i gotta focus more on the smallies in the tribs now.

why use two rods? just set up a rig with 2 baited hooks instead of one. fly guys and steelheaders do it all the time and im positive its very popular fishing for cats. for fishing the lower grand i would make sure the hooks are atleast 2 feet apart

Went out fishing yesterday. Went 3 for 4 including this 30 inch beast! Team 3 is on the board !!

fish for suckers today from about 130-6. Well over 20 hook ups and about 20 fish landed.

Saw a bunch of dandelions yesterday when i was sucker fishing so to answer your question YES lol

was out again today and was into a ton of suckers, well over 20 hook ups in 2 hours. again all fish were on worms.

try a different creek or go a bit further upstream, they are in there u just gotta find em.

me and a buddy went out today for suckers, caught so many that we lost count! all fish were caught on worms

Went out sucker fishing again yesterday. 4 for 6. Nothing too big biggest being around 3pounds. Best part was it was warm enough to leave the waders at home!

Caught a few suckers today and saw TONS. I had noticed a few fish had a dark stripe going horizontal down the body from the head to the anal fin, any idea what these were? Sorry i wasnt able to catch one of the different looking suckers or id throw up a pic

Nice fish!! Thats where I caught my first and only walleye LOL Dont worry about all the harassment youll get used to it, I get accused of fishing fish sanctuaries every time i post a report. Knowing and obeying fishing regs is something i take very seriously and Ive even yelled at a few guys fishing in a questionable location that I would report them if they didnt get their 's outa there, after they tried convincing me they werent doing anything wrong I pulled out my cell phone and walked over to a sign no further than 100 yards from where they were fishing and begun dialing the MNR hotline that is boldly printed on the sign. After punching in about 5 numbers I saw the 3 guys quickly moving downstream. They were fishing under a bridge that has signs all over it saying fish sanctuary no fishing and there are other signs posted ALL over the river stating that there is to be no fishing north of the bridge but it did not say anything about under the bridge? Does anyone know if this boundary starts at the north or south end of the bridge? These guys were trying to tell me it was the north end of the bridge but after they fled the scene while i was dialing the MNR hotline it makes me think they were in fact fishing in the sanctuary.
