  1. Hey guys! Well its that time of year again were the pretty fish come out to play! After loosing what would have been my first 4 browns yesterday and one this morning i got back out there this afternoon and gave it another go and was rewarded with a beauty!! God dang this are pretty fish it!!! After releasing the brown i left just in time to beat the intense rainshower All in all a great day, landed a nice nook and a jack, and saw a nice deer walk right by me while i was fishin!
  2. sorry if im coming off a little harsh but i lost what would have been my first 4 brownies today !! O well gonna give it another go tomorrow hopefully I can finally bring one of these gorgeous fish to the bank!
  3. The thing that doesnt make sense is the STUPID MNR claims they dont have enough money to have more CO's. Maybe if the few CO'S we do have actually did something when you called them instead of call you back 3-7 days later (happened on MANY occasions), they could fine some of these holes out there swinging treble hooks the size of walnuts and maybe just maybe use some of that money to employ more CO's? Until that day, redneck justice is all we really have. I usually wont approach a snagger or someone taking more fish than their limit/milking every fish he lands if im by myself, but there is strength in numbers! A few times this year, even today, me and a few of the other regulars of this trib have confronted snaggers and more often than not they high-tail it outa there, of course you get the ones that pretend not to understand what your saying as well.... poor salmon, with how low the water levels are this year no fish stands a chance
  4. Hey guys, well its been quite a while since Ive been able to hit the water, ever since june I have been swamped with work and havent had any time to fish, until last weekend that is. Me and my buddy decided to try the whirpool for trout and salmon, after about 3 hours with the only action being me loosing a nook on a cleo we packed it up and searched for another spot to fish. We found a small pond with decent access and corn all over the place so we figured we would fish for carp, after about 20 minutes FISH ON! My pb carp, about 10 pounds! About an hour goes by and my buddies into his first carp!! The fish got covered in sand when I brought it to the bank so I washed it off before trying to take a pic, but while washing it she slipped out of my hands and swam away! O well my buddy couldnt have been happier to catch his first carp. Felt good to be fishing again, work is going to slow down quite a bit as it usually does this time of year until the spring I cant wait to get into some chrome!
  5. I forgot to bring my cards wrote a bunch up the other day and there still sitting in the same place .
  6. Went out today looking for some steel and suckers and ran into a few surprises. After floating live worms through 3 different spots i decided to take a break, set up a worm with a bunch of weight and threw it out there. Before i could even unwrap my beef jerky the rod tip went crazy and I had a fish on! At first i thought just a sucker but when i brought it to the bank i was wrong. It was a channel cat my first this year and a big surprise because ive never herd of anyone ever catching cats in this trib. A quick pic and a new worm and i was sitting on the bank enjoying my jerky when the rod started dancing again. After a short fight I had a decent sized sucker on the bank. I decided bottom fishing was the way to fish today and went back to a more productive spot that i was shut out at earlier in the day. while crossing the stream i spooked a nice sized carp that was sitting dead still in only 2 feet of water. I got to the spot and was surprised again when i noticed a small pike sitting in some slack water. I quickly through on a spinner and attempted to fool him but after 10 minutes and a few follows i gave up and went back to worms. The rest of the day was fairly slow with only a few suckers and a very small OOS smallie and a rocky. I saw a few steelhead but they wanted nothing to do with my offerings. There was also a TON of dead lamperays scattered all over the river bottom which was nasty. I managed to snag and "dispose" of one and would have loved to come across and dispose of more of these unwanted freaks. All in all it was a good day on the water, seeing or catching 7 different species of gamefish is always a great day!
  7. nice fish bud those are some tanks!
  8. A buddy of mine got one that was at least 2 pounds maybe more last summer, i wish i would weighed it now lol they get pretty big if theres not many other fish to compete with for food, there very aggressive and will eat almost anything

  14. I ate a few mushrooms i found along the river last time i went fishing. about 40 mins after i ate them, bob and wayne izumi crawled out of the forest dressed as batman and robin and started catching great white sharks in my favorite steelie hole!!!
  15. damn those are some big suckers!! Defiantly a size up from the ones we get down here
  16. dont try to unhook a snapper! ittl be the last thing those fingers ever do lol
  17. I wanna apologize to fishhero and anyone else that i had offended yesterday. I was 100% out of line with what I said and defiantly should have just simply reminded him about the OOS "pic rule" instead of being an about this whole situation. I never try to be a tough guy but sometimes my emotions get the better of me (especially when it comes to fishin). I have come to a realization that all of us on this amazing forum share a passion for one of our countries greatest past-times, and based of that alone we should all get along. Once again i sincerely apologize to you FISHHERO, you did not deserve that at all. Mike
  18. lol i was thinking about it, I have a feeling the mods wont be too happy about that though
  19. So over the month of april, i did a ton of sucker fishing on a local creek. Almost every time I went out i saw people clearly targeting rainbow trout (using roe, 10ft+ rods etc). Every time I would call the MNR report line but of course those CO`S are to busy sleeping with the dog (for lack of a better word). Then one day i encountered two people, a father and son, that were fishing roe with centerpin reels and raven float rods. I told them they were breaking the law and they looked at me as if i was speaking a different language. When i was leaving the creek to go get picked up i saw the 2 guys loading a steelhead into there car!! once again i told them it was illigal and they ignored me. I took tons of pictures of them including there licence plate and filed another report to the MNR including pictures and after following up with them i found out again nothing was done. Then about a week after that i saw the same 2 guys snag a bow and cut out a hole where the roe is on the fish and squeeze about half a ziploc bag of roe out of the fish, and then he threw it back!! Again i was taking tons of pictures and filed another report to the MNR and after following up, NOTHING WAS DONE!! Im not one to take the law into my own hands, but i think next time I see people fishing OOS (especially the father and son) and continue to do so after i warn them its illegal, i might accidentally step on a 500 dollar rod and warp a 500 dollar reel. What would you guys do if you where in my shoes?
  20. Those are come HUGE perch!!! nice fish!!
  21. So after being stuck in bed for the past few days with a mixture of the flu and strep throat i decided to get out for some fishing today. I figured all the popular spots would be crowded so me and a buddy went to a less popular section of a very popular creek. For the first hour or so all we got were suckers until i landed the first steelie of the day on a live worm under a float. Nothing to big around 5 pounds. After fishing a few more spots and getting nothing but suckers I hooked into another steelie, around 6 pounds. After fishing that spot a big longer I hooked up with what i though was just a creek chub or shiner, but it turned out to be a nice little brookie around 7 inches long, unfortunately it unhooked itself as i was reeling it in so i still to this day have not officially caught a brook trout lol After fishing for another hour or so and getting nothing in return we were about to call it a day until my float dropped and my reel started screaming! At first i thought it was a monster chromer but it turned out to be my first ever carp, and a big one too at least 15 pounds. Sorry for not having any pics my phone died within minutes of my first cast of the day LOL Hope everyone had a good opener and the crowds werent that bad. tight lines
  22. in bed with the flu on opener :( hopfully i feel better tommorow
