  1. Rouge has been redone (beautified) quite a bit but the number of parking spaces have been reduced a lot. Also not much space along the river/bay to cast. Not sure how much carp are still in there as well. The water level now may not be as high as the picture shows from a month ago.
  2. And I missed all that action because I had to watch Nascar at home . But I was really too tired from the day before to go again. There is alway next year or another weekend to do it all over again .
  3. I'll pass on fishing Sunday so I can watch the race and wait for the "big one". Yep I gotta be crazy to put Nascar before fishing.
  4. Aaah, thats more like it. And that's darned good mileage (kilometerage?) you're getting.
  5. Hmmm, mpg? What's that? I haven't come across a gas station in Canada so far that can tell me how many gallons I bought. And all of our cars and trucks track distance in kilometres. Wow, it's amazing how many people still think in imperial measurements after 30 years. My math is bad so I stick to litres and kilometres. And I get totally confused when the prices in the US are per gallon and their US gallon is different from the old canadian imperial gallon. My 98 Civic = 10 litres per 100km in the city.
  6. Wow. Comes with world map too. And mine's only got US and Canada.
  7. Beautiful pics. I came across a weird effect with pic #2 Heron Landing. When I use the wheel on my mouse to scroll up and down with the pic in the middle of the screen the wings of the heron seemed to be moving.
  8. They are beautiful, awesome, fantastic and so nice to look at over and over again.
  9. Peter, you have just added a whole new meaning to "fly-fishing" .
  10. Welcome aboard. Pretty soon your daily routine will end up like fishing in the morning, golfing in the afternoon, grouting in the evening, hanging out on OFC at night.
  11. No kidding. They go on one side of the boat and it flips . Welcome aboard buddy .

    Hard Water

Nice effects. My initial impression of the first picture was "hmmm... angry sky".
  13. I think Shaun Rickard did a good job with his Urban Outdoor Adventures. For entertainment it's got to be those Bill Dance bloopers. You don't want to be near him when he does his hookset for sure.
  14. Crazyhook might be able to answer some of your questions. He is a kayaker.
  15. Is this what you are looking for? http://www.ofncommunity.com/forums/index.p...mp;#entry124340

Love those post card views from the top.
  17. Hey Gerritt, that was none other than our carp fanatic MJL that you asked. We were busy chatting away with another fella and didn't clue in that it was you. Sorry about that. And no don't feel bad, you didn't look like a fool.
  18. Scenes from the Rouge Valley (within Toronto) during spring 2007. The Rouge River north of Hwy 2. Polarized filter used on lens. Beavers hard at work along the trail. Peaceful setting for a leisurely walk.
  19. That was a good stress reliever . I used to manage system implementations and people called them virtual hell.
  20. Wiki definition: Sport is an activity that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often engaged in competitively. Sports commonly refer to activities where the physical capabilities of the competitor are the sole or primary determiner of the outcome (winning or losing), but the term is also used to include activities such as mind sports and motor sports where mental acuity or equipment quality are major factors. I would say that fishing does not fit the criteria where "the physical capabilities of the competitor are the sole or primary determiner of the outcome (winning or losing)". Fishing is a recreational activity. Engaging in competition does not make it a sport either. Are canadian Idol participants engaging in a sport?
  21. You are funny. Make sure you filed your patent on it. If you sell 1 million through those infomercials with Billy the Oxy clean guy and you get $5 profit for each then that's a cool $5 mill for you. No more work - just sit back and catch carp everyday . Rich could be the butler bringing drinks. Nice post to start the day.
  22. I get my snowblower and chainsaw parts from Alpine in Scarborough. Not cheap but convenient for me. http://www.alpinelawn.ca/index.htm
  23. Our one day of inconvenience will be nothing compared to what 170 million Chinese travellers are going through this week. Snow and sleet are preventing them from getting home for their Chinese new year. That's equal to half the population of the US stranded somewhere on their visit back to their home villages and towns. Yep, they called in the army to help.
  24. I was at Gander Mountain two weekends ago and found they re-organized the store. Inventory of their fishing stuff might be a bit low at this time of the year. Was looking for fishing line and the rack didn't have as much selection as previously. End of season I guess. But lots of hunting stuff.
