Nice meeting your dad and happy that he had a wonderful time out there. I still cannot believe he out-fished you on his first ever carping trip. But that's good because he will want to do more and the side benefit is that you get lots of quality time together. Was a great outing.

It was quite an enjoyable day with all the folks there. I'm not in the pictures because I'm mostly behind the camera. I find action shot interesting and tend to do more of them. Secondly, after over five years of carp fishing I still cannot get use to the fragrance associated with carp. The second picture with the silhouette of MJL was an accident as I couldn't get the flash going in the heat of the action and there's no time to play around with the white balance on my Nikon D40 SLR. It did turn out to be an interesting picture.

Many years ago I went head first and fuly clothed into the Otonobee to get my $200 gear after the carp took off with it. Now MJL lends me his baitrunner with the switch that I usually forget to switch on. It's fun.

Quite interesting background indeed. You went with your instincts and likely had some divine guidance. It turned out well as when you look at the resulting shape it is a "cross" with DSN in it - very appropriate. The City are installing parking meters in the lots at the waterfront parks soon. That could discourage a lot of people driving down there with a lot of carp gear and buckets of bait.

Only if I would remember to flip that switch every time. I forgot to do that several times on my last trip and one on of those times I had a fish on. Pod and everything else would be swimming if my son was not standing right there.

You're building up momentum now. The next outing will get even better. I didn't land any this season until last Sunday and that one day made up for three weeks of zeroes.
