It's the adrenaline rush you get that makes you want to go back for more. Big fish on light gear is quite exciting. Good luck tonight.

Would a charger like the one advertised work for a deep cycle battery? I'm considering buying a small trolling motor for my canoe, a deep cycle battery and a charger.

Columnaris Bacteria Found in Scugog Carp
lazybum replied to ccmtcanada's topic in General Discussion
This topic was on the news again tonight on CTV news at 6. The re-play of the clip can be seen on toronto.ctv.ca web site under top videos. The MNR was interviewed. More analysis to be done by the feds. -
Oh Yeah - those lips don't need any botox. Nice job.

On the lighter side, 1) Cook big fish on BBQ on July 1 - Canada Day 2) Place cooked fish on cedar plank in backyard 3) Wait overnight 4) Dispose of bones next day Racoons love a celebration. Could get a bit rowdy if a fight breaks out between racoons and the skunks. Providing Molson Canadian beer is advisable but optional. Everything is legal. I do indeed have a sick sense of humor.

Many of us do fishing in general for the enjoyment aspect of it rather than to become be a true sportsman. And really how many is too many to have an adverse impact. What scientific stiudies have you done to support that. Also consider what the impact will be on the tourism business if you wipe out all the carp as you suggested.

By then it would be too late to say let's start doing something about it. Anytime there is a significant die-off regardless of the species we should all be concerned and should find out the underlying cause which is what the MNR is doing though very sloooowly. At this point we can just wait and let nature do its thing and hope it doesn't spread to other species.

So will that challenge be either 40+ pounds or 40+ inches whichever comes first? Let's see how it goes tommorow at Hammy. I'll be there only as a water boy or MJL's gofer.

Pics of underwater and above water life around the shoreline

Interesting pics and educational too (proliferation of garbage in fish habitat). Were you using one of those new cameras that are water proof? -
OK..So I lied...another Carp Report - June 20
lazybum replied to ccmtcanada's topic in General Discussion
OK...Carpmaster has to be reserved for Photoz. Photoz has gotten many on the board interested and hooked on carping. So... let's come up with another good name for our friend Cliff. -
Sadly, we just lost three more our our boys today. What's happening is that we have political correctness gone mad. 100% of us supporting our troops does not mean 100% of canadians are supporting the war. What a bunch of idiots we have running our city.

Happy to see you back in action Steve and having lots of success. Also nice to hear the Brits are still coming up there. I've met quite a few of them up there along the river over the years and they are wonderful folks. It goes without saying that carpers are all wonderful folks. Things are on the upswing for you now. keep having fun.

Nice and sunny in Scarborough. But I need the rain for my lawn.

I'm too old for an all-nighter. I passed out in the car last Friday night - must have been the hemp fumes I inhaled. We can always throw a carp in the fire to show we're cooking something if it's illegal.

I was wondering what that smell was in the house. Man, the neighbours could have called the cops and got us busted. We had quite a few grow-ops around here. Cliff, as for the name lazybum? what more need to be said.

MJL's got final exams tonight. I'll get him to post the one pic we took on Friday night. Was nice meeting you and Bly on last Friday. Now I've got classes that's keeping me busy.

Nice to hear you have now settled in (minus one couch - actually there is a couch in MJL's bedroom ). I guess pretty soon we'll be hearing about your daily fishing expeditions again. We missed that but CCMT filled in the gap nicely. It's amazing how we look forward to reading certain posts daily. Maybe we need a webcam of the growing chicks. Did you ever resolve the problem with running the phone line into the bedroom for your computer? I was hoping to meet you over at the islands in early May but MJL said that since the City auctioned off your bike for big bucks you are just sticking to the west end.

I could see Hendricks making a deal with Ginn for the "shrub" to go into the 14 car Marlin is now driving. It will save him some money.

Childress is on the up swing but it will take a few years for a new team to gel and perform at the top level.
-
And don't forget the TABASCO. Man, you guys are wild. Let's see how they do tonight. I wonder if carp like tabasco.

These appear to signs of bacterial or viral infection. Hmmm, another theory - who's feeding them wheat gluten from China in their ground bait?

Somehow I recall reading a post in here some time ago about the Spring Fishing Show being incorporated into the Toronto Sportsmen Show in March. I think was an announcement from Outdoors Magazine. Now I'm confused.

That's an excellent question on the spawning bags similar to what you would do for salmon and trout. I have thought about it years ago but felt that the carp are so smart and can sense the bag being artificial they would promptly spit it out. The hair rig is quite effective. One of the other fellows will explain that. Canned corn is also softer and you will lose it more frequently when directly on the hook but it is easier to put on. Maize on the other hand is too hard.

I guess Ewww means "Every Which Whatever Way. Aaah - another convert.

Nice to see you both having so much fun. I thought MJL was fanatical about this carp fishing but you are hitting the water every night/day. You're great ambassadors for the carp crowd.
