  1. you will not catch a fish on the couch, warm.
  2. we can't keeping holding everyones hand. either due to the economic cost or the cost of our freedoms. they will figure it out. do we not already charge people found at fault using a cell phone? hate 'em or hate 'em the cell phone has become an important part of our society - I've been annoyed by the occasional driver yakking away on the phone just like everyone else. I think an all out ban is going too far.
  3. most people lack common sense have a "discussion" with your gf over you forgetting your anniversary for an hour during rush hour on the 401? propably not quickly discussing with her who's picking up the kids? i think we've evolved to handle that.
  4. pretty soon we'll be asking the govt to go pee way to much nannyism going around lately. most of us can multi-task, drive and talk at the same tmie. those that can't shouldn't.

  6. i think he's the type of guy you love to have on your team and hate to play against for the reasons mentioned. as a fan, he's entertainment. for the game, he gets people talking & wondering what he'll do next. it's all good press.

  8. pail trick works well. dan i am going to have to beg to differ on the into vs with wind. i find much better control going with. we seem to connect with many more fish going with and i attribute that to being able to hit and stay on spots better. be it slow trolling lakers or otherwise. whatever works though!
  9. i'm impressed with my 8'6" XH (4-12oz) telescopic Okuma muskie rod. i also have the new 8'6" xh st. croix premiere (4-10oz) and while it's definately a better rod than the okuma (except for the shorter butt), it is twice the price. okumas entire evx muskie line seems like a good deal. half the price of premiere/compre.
  10. good on you and your buddy for just getting out there and doing it. can't do much surfing the couch. sounds like you're both hooked. for the sake of your wallets and sanity i hope you don't hook into a muskie any time soon.
  11. gah! poor guys beer goggles were turned up high.

  13. [quote name='lew' date='Oct 22 2008, 07:46 AM' post='260612' I find it interesting though that for marine electronics, most folks, including myself, seem to prefer Lowrance units, yet for cars most seem to lean towards the Garmin products. Lew, if Lowrance & Garmin teamed up and made a Sonar/GPS combo I'd be all over it. Hard to go wrong with Lowrance/Eagle for sonars and Garmin for GPS, no matter whether it's for a car or marine application - in my opinion of course. For us fisherfolk the sonar comes first so we go Lowrance and get stuck with Navionics..
  14. a tad chilly here in maryland, had to put my tshirt back on.
  15. another vote for garmin lew. i have the nuvi 250 widescreen. does everything you listed and more. the model up will say the street names, this one just tells you turn left, right, etc. i've considered them a bit of a toy when it comes to travelling around familiar places but i bring it with me when on travel in the states and it is indispensible.

  19. from canada, by land or sea you need proof of citizenship. that can come in the form of your birth certificate (if born in canada), cdn citizenship card or cdn passport. by plane you need a cdn passport. health card is worthless as ID. you only need a driver's license or secondary ID if over 18. if you aren't a canadian citizen that obviously wont do either. http://www.ppt.gc.ca/planification/local.aspx?lang=eng i travel once-twice a month. i now have my passport so i fly out of pearson but drove across to fly out of buffalo quite often in the last two years. starting july 1st 2009, you will need a passport to cross by land or sea as well.
