  7. Poor old suburbia facing a big city problem. Sorry, the tears are not coming Pete. Panhandling earns them more than a job at Walmart or Rotten Ronnies.

    Abu 7001 ?

yeah Mike, some are double 10s but waaaay bigger bodies than the tinsel stuff. I like the Cabos for jerkbaits but I have some doubt as to whether or not the gears will last hard-cranking these monsters. I guess time will tell. Looking at the 7000s and particularlty the HS(N)s they look like they'd take anything you throw at 'em.

    Abu 7001 ?

I'm still debating it in my mind. Looking for a reel to burn very large bucks/boos mainly though, so something with good pulling power that is also fast. Like you say, the big spool should make up for the (slower) ratio. One thing I didn't find out is whether the red models have instant anti-reverse like the HS(N)s.

    Abu 7001 ?

Ironically enough I was just looking into this as I am lefty as well. The 7001 only comes in one flavour. A red model with the 4.1:1 retrieve ratio. I was hoping it also came in the 5.3:1 Lew mentioned but no dice.
  11. way to go team fury. nice fish.
  12. good luck this wknd and season Lew. I know all about this 'disease' too. Funny thing is I can justify each purchase in my mind, but the girlfriend doesn't always get it.
  13. lol!
  14. also in regards to the "flaming" it's quite simple. you (ottawa sens(itive) fans) don't like us (tml fans) and we don't like you i like it that way. it's nothing personal. in fact, a little rivalry is great and makes our hockey world go round. personal attacks are another thing but i see nothing wrong with being hometown proud and exchanging jabs.
  15. hey FOTB, isn't that exactly what I said yesterday which you disputed?
  16. yep, foldin' like a cheap suit. the ballet they experienced in the 1st 3 rounds has turned into a mosh pit.
  17. When using jerkbaits, I use as little "hardware" on the leader (ie. snaps/swivels/crimps) as possible. In fact I tie the leaders instead of using crimps and swivels (I am lazy however and still use a snap for the convenience of switching lures). Braid to fluro I use a uni-to-uni knot. On the other end, instead of a crimp, I use a perfection loop and put a snap on. This helps a ton!
  18. sounds to me like you have windows started in 'safe mode' silly question but have you tried restarting.
  19. I'm not exactly sure what you mean either Tybo. I know some guys put a bead ahead of the knot to their leader so that they can see their line at night and avoid smacking the swivel into their rod tip.
  20. man i'm gonna miss those 2 minutes of my life
  21. what's a muskie? thanks fisherguy.
  22. Thank you. Wow, wasn't expecting that with the cold nights. Heated up fast!! I am guessing the weeds are very much underway.
  23. Can anyone give me an idea of water temps around the various Kawartha lakes? Particulalry Pigeon, Buckhorn and the bog. Please and thanks.
  24. ditto. this one comes with 8mb of memory and you can install hydrographic maps on it. you could move up to one of their more expensive handheld models with more memory and/or colour.
  25. slap Rick!
