Just thought I would update on this issue. I pulled the tank apart and the pick up looked fine. I noticed that the male connection on the tank was out of round a little, so I re-shaped best I could. I took it for a run with the tank on the seat beside me and it ran fine, put the tank and the floor and there was an issue. I pumped the ball in a vertical position and parked the boat. Went out on opening day and didn't have a problem with it. (go figure) I also bought a new after market tank and connector just in case.

Thanks again Drifter - I would probably require about 50 of them, but don't worry about it. I can order them just as easily. I am feeling much more confident about doing this job. This is exactly what I was hoping for from this forum!

Thanks Drifter - that gives me something to work with. Do you think Brafasco would carry those rivets? Would a regular rivet gun work with those or do I need a heavier one?

This is basically the same as my boat. All the seats and storage are riveted to the sides. Thanks for all the advice. Sinker: I'm not sure how you replaced the plywood without removing these items? I can see getting the plywood out, but replacing it in two pieces would be impossible.

I thought I would throw this out there to this membership before I attempt it on my own. I have a 14' Smokercraft with a walk through design. I noticed that the floor is getting kind of spongy, so it looks like I will have to replace it this fall. My biggest issue is going to be how to get the new wood in after removing the old stuff. I have two bench seats; one in front and one in back, a live well on one side and storage on the other. The seats, live well and storage are screwed to the floor, but riveted to the sides. Should I pay someone to pop the rivets and replace them after (any idea the cost of this?) I replace the floor or should I put pieces of wood in like a jigsaw puzzle? My concern with pieces is that there will be a lack of support between the joints of the plywood. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Jim

My opinion is that it's not worth it for two weeks. I also live on Pigeon Lake. There is a home/cottage (newly renovated close to a million dollar home) down the street from me that has gone to weekly rentals during the summer and it's always a shyte show, problems with septic, too many people, no respect for neighbours, drunks, noise, etc. Unless you hate your neighbours. LOL

Fished Pigeon, caught 9 walleye, 6 muskie (What's with that?) and a zillion OOS bass. Only 3 in the slot, 2 over and 4 under. The largest was a 27" beauty!

I have my fingers crossed about the rebound. I even caught two small walleye ice fishing on Chemong while targeting panfish. First ones since ice fishing opened there.

I've bought new gas lines twice already in the last year Sinker. However, it could be the after market parts just suck. Even when I order parts from the Marina, they give after market parts. Those connectors that are bought off the shelf just seem like they never fit right. I will try that by-pass; not sure why I didn't think of that. LOL

The glaciers did create this area that allowed for the waterways to be dammed, eventually producing a great chain of lakes. The kawarthas are close to where the glaciers started to recede.

I like to troll if my spots aren't producing. Trolling covers much more water and you can always stop to cast when you locate fish. I was pike fishing recently and we caught all the pike trolling accept for one. I will probably try trolling for walleye this weekend just because the water is so high and the fish will probably be spread out. The switch to jigging once we locate some.

Lots of things to check and consider. I have replaced a couple of primer balls and connectors over the last few years and thought I had it figured out. Just had put two new connectors on this spring due to the small gaskets breaking. Not sure if there is a better quality primer ball available. I had bought one last year and it didn't work from day one, so I replaced it with the one I have on there now. I'm leaning towards the problem being between the primer ball and the bottom of the gas tank. I'm going to pull out the pick up tube, maybe the screen is gummed up from ethanol.

Good news! That water can really catch people off guard when it rises quickly. Always good to add a few tie offs in the spring.

Thanks for the replies. I will add some more info: The arrow is pointing the right way, it's a plastic tank and the pick up is made of hard plastic, I took the cap off and actually took it apart to make sure the vent wasn't clogged (it was clear). Is it possible that the connection on the tank is damaged internally?

Hi Guys Hoping someone out there can answer this question. I have a 25 hp Yamaha, put a new gas line on it at the end of last year, I run it wide open for a bit, then it dies. I pump the primer ball at it throttles up again but the ball is collapsed like there is a vacuum inside. Anyone have any ideas what is causing this? Is it possible it's the tank? Thanks!
