  1. That's kind of harsh. I'm not so sure young Mr Kane is all that different from most of the young pampered millionaires who play NHL hockey. There's all kinds of stuff that happens that never make it to the press for public consumption that I can guarantee. They're still pretty much kids at least in my eyes and kids (especially filthy rich kids) sometimes do stupid things. In any case congrat's to the Hawks, definitely well deserved.
  2. I assumed the trail into Esnagi was off limits to the public because of the lodges on the lake. Guess not.
  3. TJ you're 100% correct. When I bought my 2hp Honda a couple of years ago my first choice was something similar in a 2 stroke. There was unfortunately nothing available. I do a lot of portaging with my Honda and you're correct, the oil will leak everywhere unless it's carried a certain way. For me it's a huge pita. I've dealt with the situation by draining the motor oil (it doesn't take much) before I portage then topping it up when I'm done. On the plus side it is incredibly fuel efficient and so far very reliable. Still if I had a chance to grab a good 2 stroke I would.
  4. You must be one of them thar born again virgins! Hey wait a minute...come to think of it I'm a virgin too. (Cliff one day it'll all come together for you I'm sure of it)
  5. Um...I'm guessing he was being sarcastic Billy. Camilji is that you in the video? Whoever it is bears a disturbing resemblance to douG.
  6. I may have been a hair off, can I change my answer? 191/4", around 3lb's give or take.
  7. No need for a road trip if the deal is good enough. I bought a 3 yr old 40hp Honda outboard last summer from the y2k trader for 2 grand. Cost me $350 to have it shipped by truck right to my front door. (Course Dave crated it up for me. )
  8. Nice looking trip. Looks like a pretty civilized affair. 181/4", 2.94lb's
  9. I stand corrected. I knew he'd filmed a couple times at Esnagami, but had no idea he'd been to Esnagi. I've already fished both . Between the two Esnagami is maybe a bit better. Bigger and more varied, bigger pike and the chance for brookies in the river. I'll be flying right over Esnagami on Sat enroute to the Attawapiskat.
  10. An old family friend had a water access camp very similar to yours on the lower French. He had several lrg steel boxes built with lockable lids. These were burried in the ground, the lids camoflaged with ground cover. Kept most of his valuables in there including outboards. In 25 years in a pretty busy area he never lost a thing.
  11. Great picture, love the old stubby. It's still a fantastic walleye lake and yep you can still access it by rail.
  12. Nope. He's fished Esnagami N/W of Nakina. Close though.
  13. It's a lake located just east of White River. Accessed only by air or rail, it's somewhat remote. White River Air has two lodges on the lake, Marmac and Eighty Eight. Both are classic Canadian lodges. Esnagi has been one of the top walleye lakes in that region since the 50's.
  14. Gives me something to strive for. Congrat's Connie.
  15. Not unlike Rice I've always had my best success on Scugog ripping bucktail jigs through the weeds.
  16. 93? Wow that's fantastic. Sorry to hear about her passing, regardless of the situation it's still gotta be tough. Condolences
  17. I suggested you take it to a marine mechanic for the compression test 'cause I figured you weren't outboard motor savvy. Regardless of how cheap it is I'd still get it checked by a mechanic.
  18. Take it to a marine mechanic and have a compression test done. If it checks out tell the seller you'll take it then have the mechanic tune it up for you as well. (change plugs, lower end oil, etc, etc..) I'd also run a can of Seafoam through the first tank of gas if you buy it.
  19. My sister inlaw and her beau just came back from a week at Horwood Lake lodge. They're rank amateurs when it comes to fishing but apparantly they caught hundreds of walleye. They had a fantastic time. Bit further than North Bay but probably worth looking into: http://www.horwoodlakelodge.com/
  20. Thanks for that Connie and too bad about your shoulder! Did you manage any big pike trolling?
  21. Just awesome, you're living quite the life up there. Still can't get over the head of hair on your lad LOL!
  22. Your mother sounds like she was an inspirational lady. Very sorry to read this, condolences to you and the rest of your family.
