  5. Forgive me OFC for I have sinned it has been a very long time since my last fish report but I am alive and well and listening and going through all the weirdness that life brings. I'm employed healthy and driven and get down to the river as much as I can I'm selling my boat and downsizing and taking a bit more of a keen interest in 2 wheels I know I know its a phase. On the weekend I decided to push?excercise my limits and went in what is called a Spartan Beast 22+km and 25 obstacles on foot I got through, discovered I wasn't a jogger but one heck of a power walker(forced march) took me about 5.5 hrs in the Harwood bush. I felt great I feel great it was tough and the last couple of km I was almost in tears my knees hurt so bad. I have decided to pursue this in a smart way going forward to stay in shape, Couple of pictures attached zoom in and check out my left knee in the before(orange) picture I think this is why they call this the beast or I had a hitchhiker Cheers and Tightlines Peter

Cold Packs ,onbottom of cooler wet news paper on top of cold packs, lobster,.wet newspaper again and then cold packs this setup will give you close to 2 days if they come out of water I dont think you can come across with live could be wrong never tried it always tstuck to the canadian route but the method i have giving you is rock solid i have been doing it that way for 30 years plastic pop bottles frozen with water work great as well . If you go the calis route stop at OZZIES on the side of the road and order the clams and a side lobster roll you wont regret it and you may want to build a house there http://ugonnaeatthat.com/2008/08/06/new-brunswick-ossies-lunch/ Cheers Peter

  16. Im curious how people think pike should not be in the Kawarthas Its not like locks are going to keep them from traveling. as far as balsam goes they have been in there a long long time I remember when i was a kid fishing with my uncle you would get the odd one and really nice walters at that time Muskie was the bad guy in there and i dont agree the muskie fishery is of more value then pike or any other fish in the kawarthas. Each has its place and nature and evolution will sort it out. Peter

  19. I have always been a Bird man to be honest I only need to see the bottom I dont really look for fish "I fish for them" hell I grew up using paper graphs on the lake looking for bananas If your a tourney guy I can see wanting all the great wizardry that is available(on that end I think its like performance enhancing drugs) a normal joe fishereman(no offence to Joe)just needs to see bottom. hell I have only had 3 units since I was a kid A flasher I used for 20 years an early model Lowrance (boat anchor) "I catch fish!" save your money for better reels or rods or clothing or something. and to make it more interesting I gave my bird(5 years old and still blazing away) unit to my dad to take down east because it has a GPS and and I now have possession of his Lowrance seahawk(new boat anchor). It will do the trick as for service its not just them we live in a disposable world just "buy" another one just my rant Cheers Peter
