  12. thanks for the search johnnyb but thats not the one, it's dark grey, the size of a hockey puck but twice the thickness, runs on 2 AA batteries, he called it a vibrating hockey puck (obviously not the real name) and said he got it in timmins, i tried calling him this morning but his wife said he was gone fishing again, i've left him a message to get back to me, i thought maybe someone here may have heard of it before, Terry, i got the same results as you, i am at work...ooops
  13. Happy New Years boys and girls went fishing a little speckie lake yesterday (we caught 3, no pics and missed 5 ), the temps. with the windchill were in the -30's, needless to say our holes kept freezing over in no time, a buddy had a vibrating puck to put in the hole to keep it from freezing over and to my amazement it actually worked, the best thing since sliced bread imo. (if ur talking ice fishing that is...) so of course figured i gotta buy me some of those, only i've never seen them before or heard of them for that matter, i tried googling vibrating puck but that didn't help, searched bps, and cabelas with no luck, tried searching the forum here and still nothing anybody know what they are actually called? so i can google the right thing btw. all fish were caught and missed on that one line (was it the vibrating action) thanks a bunch
  14. i went thru this a few years ago as i spend most of the summer in the gogama area, only service is bell & telus, for some reason telus has better service which i dont understand as i was told telus uses bell resources, i've always had telus for this reason and see countless ppl with bell who dont get half the reception i do, i use a cheapo pay as you go phone, nothing fancy also works great around home, (sudbury) i start getting service just north of low water lake all the way to timmins, but not very far off the highway, ( only about 10 kms or so up up hwy 560)
  15. instead of using a dowel with an eyelet on it i use old broken fishing rods, i usually try to get 2-3 eyelts on one length, for a spool/reel just go to a tackle shop and they sell the plastic ones (for making tip-ups) for a couple bucks, a bracket screws to your rod/hockey stick with a small bolt stiking out, spool, plastic washer and plastic wing nut over the bolt and tighten to how much tension u want or free spool, i think i paid 2 bucks a piece at bps last year, u can get some with rattles in the spool
  16. - A Christmas Story - A Charlie Brown Christams - Grandma got run over by a reindeer, grandma even liked that one - Dont have kids/grandkids but when i can i go to neices and nephews - No, never have - Yes - I try but it gets repetitive at work when i sometimes see over 100 ppl in a day, but i make sure to say it to anybody thats rude or impatient
  17. give that stick to a kid these days and he'd break his arm with the weight of it sorry cant help you with what it would be worth, the shaft would make some good tip ups.
  18. wow, now that's a great price,...... uhhhh....... not that i know what the going rate is or anything.... hey look, a bird
  19. without a doubt A Christmas Story when Ralphie helps with the flat tire... "OOOOOOHHHHHHH FUDGE!!!!!!! except i didnt really say fudge," then when his mom calls the mom of "the kid that told him" and u hear her beating him on the other end CLASSIC its the only christmas movie i HAVE to watch oh man, the pink bunny suit from his aunt, awesome oh man, the major award, "fragile" must be italian must.....see it.... now.....
  20. awesome, i make my own jerky also but have never put cayenne, i'll have to try that only fish i've done was perch, and the only thing we put on it is pepper, no brine or marinades, sometimes lemon pepper, but i'm not a big fan of that, if u dont mind me asking what type of marinading will you be doing for the fish if you rather not share i completely understand thx and good luck
  21. -the drops that were given to us were for ppl. we had to go to the pharmacy to pick up, -we did speak to the fine folks at Guelph U. they suggested we remove the eye here and await results before going down there - no my vet has not seen this before which is why he contacted those who have (vets in guelph, midland and toronto) here she was early on in the week, u see a little how one eye turned a bluish grey compared to her natural dark brow here she is after surgery all sewn up within a few hours after surgery she was bouncing around the vet's place with way more energy than the whole week before so they called us up to come pick her up, she seems back to her old self again except right after we give her the medication, she sleeps a few hours after that, it's still unknown what the problem was, when the vet removed her eye it exploded in his hands and he was full of green goo, so it got sent out to be analyzed and we should have results by monday, my vet thinks blastomicosys, which is very dangerous and very costly to treat so were hoping not, but he's just a general practitioner and is awaiting results from the lab and opthomologist
  22. Q: Doctor, I've heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life. Is this true? A: Heart only good for so many beats, and that it... Don't waste on exercise. Everything wear out eventually. Speed up heart not make live longer; that like say you can extend life of car by driving faster. Want live longer? Take nap. Q: Should I cut down on meat and eat more fruits and vegetables? A: You must grasp logistical efficiencies. What does cow eat? Hay and corn. What are these? Vegetables. So, steak nothing more than efficient mechanism of delivering vegetables to system. Need grain? Eat chicken. Beef also good source of field grass (green leafy vegetable). And pork chop can give 100% recommended daily allowance of vegetable products. Q: Should I reduce my alcohol intake? A: No, not at all. Wine made from fruit. Brandy is distilled wine. That means they take water out of fruity bit; get even more of goodness that way. Beer also made out of grain. Bottoms up! Q: How can I calculate my body/fat ratio? A: If you have body and you have fat, ratio is one to one. If you have two bodies, ratio is two to one, etc. Q: What are some of the advantages of participating in a regular exercise program? A: Cannot think of single one, sorry.. My philosophy: No Pain...Good! Q: Aren't fried foods bad for you? A: YOU NOT LISTENING!!! .... Foods fried in vegetable oil. How getting more vegetables be bad for you? Q: Will sit-ups help prevent me from getting a little soft around the middle? A: Definitely not! When you exercise muscle, it get bigger. You should only do sit-ups if want bigger stomach. Q: Is chocolate bad for me? A: You crazy? HELLO ... Cocoa beans! Vegetable!!! Cocoa beans best feel-good food around! Q: Is swimming good for your figure? A: If swimming good for figure, explain whales to me. Q: Is getting in-shape important for my lifestyle? A: Hey! 'Round' is shape! Well, I hope this has cleared up any misconceptions you may have had about food and diets. AND..... For those of you who watch what you eat, here's the final word on nutrition and health. It's a relief to know the truth after all those conflicting nutritional studies: 1. The Japanese eat very little fat And suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans. 2. The Mexicans eat a lot of fat And suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans. 3. The Chinese drink very little red wine And suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans. 4 The Italians drink a lot of red wine And suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans. 5. The Germans drink a lot of beers and eat lots of sausages and fats And suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans. CONCLUSION..... Eat and drink what you like. Speaking English is apparently what kills you.
  23. done and done, 294 and counting Merry Christmas
