  1. I watched a few episodes last night, it was pretty cool, except the episode on the snakeheads invading North America and the people who released them over here.....
  2. Nice fish there, I didnt even know B of Q had Lakers in it!
  3. Well done, I want to get out on Simcoe sometime soon!
  4. Awesome fish, it takes alot of people alot of time to catch a fish like that, so well done!
  5. Good Luck Mike, I hope that all goes well, I am sure that you will be back on your feet in no time! Daryl
  6. Awesome looking fish man, I definitely need to get out and get into some chrome, I havent been out in weeks!
  7. hahaha wow, I cant believe a simple dog conversation turned so nasty so quickly! Definitely emotions run strong when it comes to dogs. I, (like most of us here I assume) treat my dogs like members of the family, as they should be treated, I have 3 dogs, 2 Dachsund mixes and a yellow lab. I have had a Yellow Lab for 12 years, and he is the best dog ever, in general he is the most easy going, well behaving, smartest dog I think anyone could ask for, he is a great companion, and one of my best friends, we crated him for the first few months, and after that he has not had a single accident in the house. My Dachsund mixes are much younger, (1.5 years and 12 weeks) and they harrass my lab quite a bit, but he just shrugs it off and has never been aggressive towards them, he plays with them, but not rough at all. Labs are excellent with kids, and even strangers, so if you are looking for a guard dog forget it! As others have mentioned, its not all roses, they do need attention, and excercise, and they can tend to be too smart for their own good. Before we got him fixed especially, he tended to wander alot, and labs do shed quite a bit, so they are a bit of work in that respect. But then again, anyone looking into getting a dog should know that they are in for some work. Definitely get him/her from a breeder, I would recomend a male, just because I have never had a female one, and my male is so well behaved. As far as huskies go, I dont have any experience with them, but I love the way that they look, they are one of the nicest looking dogs out there, however I feel sorry for them in the summertime, and I have heard that the shedding is ridiculous. and he loves christmas presents, he even opens them himself!
  8. Yeah, I have heard that in front of the Pickering plant it is pretty good aswell for smallies and some other species aswell, especially when the water temps go down in the rest of the lake, security doesnt like it too much when people get close, but there isnt anything that they can do, I am just nervous to head into the big lake seeing as I only have a 14' tinnie! Wow, that sounds like a rough day on the water, I dont mind a little spray, but this time of year it gets cold fast once you are wet!
  9. Nice fish, it looks cold up there! I have debated trying out front of Pickering B do you work at the Bruce? I have a job offer to go up there that I am debating taking
  10. haha nobody should care who is in first place after 8 or 9 games. I mean does anyone think Nashville is going to finish #1 (where they sit now)? I know that T.O and Montreal fans are both guilty of it, and its easy to get excited with all of the media attention that hockey gets up here, but after the all star break then lets talk results, and even then its only half way there. I love hockey, but I try not to get too wrapped up in standings until they really mean something nearer the end of the season.
  11. haha I think I am going to have a seizure!
  12. That is strange, but I have heard of walleye coming in to shallow areas like boat launches at night to feed, but I have never seen it for myself!
  13. Great report, and great sense of humour!
  14. A while back there were a few posts on the subject, but the run was kind of early this year, I think its more trout that people are catching lately
  15. Haha, yea its amazing how it can be 32 degrees in Ohio and 0 degrees in Ontario on the same day, the border must keep all of the cold in Canada!
  16. I joined because I love to fish, and I love learning more about fishing, there is always something to learn, and I enjoy sometimes sharing my fishing endeavors with other like minded people. Since I joined I have broadened the scope of fish that I persue, learned some new things about fishing, and also gotten some advice on non-fishing subjects from the friendly and helpful board members. I just want to say thanks Fisherman and HTHM in particular for being so helpful. The popularity of this thread just goes to show you the kind of good people that are part of this board, thanks for letting me be a part of it too!
  17. Nice Laker, I have caught them on a Lake O trib a few years back, I caught 4 in 1 day, and none before or since then, but I am sure that they come up to spawn.
  18. Nice Pictures, and very nice chrome, I need to get out and find me some chrome soon, I miss it, all I have really seen so far this year is big ugly salmon.
  19. Great post and pictures, definitely looks like a good day on the water, I am hoping that the pike and musky can co-habitate in the Kawarthas, because I dont think they can be stopped!
  20. Awesome Fish man, I havent been able to get a Brown yet this year, I am hoping for one soon!
  21. Sweet rig man, definitely a little more versatile than a bass boat!
  22. I have tried salt and brown sugar before, with limited success..... The last batch that I made up I used some stuff called Atlas Shake and Cure that I bought from some sports store, and it worked pretty good actually, just be careful not to use too much of it though
  23. Thanks very much for the info Fisherman and HTHM I really appreciate it, Hopefully it isnt the seal, and it is just 2 cycle oil, I am going to go and check it out this afternoon! (the boat isnt at my house) I have been nervous to take it out on the water because I dont want to make it worse, but if it just oil, maybe my motor is just running a little rich, or I mixed the gas a little rich. Musky season is here and I want to try to get out and get a big one!
