good on you to post good experiences with small shops. havent been there myself but in the area often..
-
i have a corner lot with sidewalks, and several schools close by. There is a lot of kids walking by and they drop all their garbage on the ground as they walk...but they dont look around first, or seem like they are disguising it, they just drop it on the ground regardlesss of who can see. if/when i say something they look at me like i have 2 heads. when i cut the lawn i have to tie a garbage bag to the mower handle for yogurt cups, wrappers, pop cans, juice boxes water bottles.

i have those tubes in my stratos, the first large guide doesnt actually enter the tube so they fit. however..i cant recall breaking as many rods as i do now. several have come out of the tubes broken. perhaps on the way in but i think i would notice. ive broken 3 or 4 since i got the boat, all going into or out of the tube. dont think i ever broke a rod before i had this slick rod locker.

i use booths harbour mostly, never busy, easy run to ec10 or pottohawk. fin and feather is right next door havent used theirs dont know if its available to public if you drive around to longpoint itself there are 3 launches at marinas there..a little cheaper but it is quite a bit further to drive and id rather be in the boat than the truck.

sorry doubled.

since when were we talking about your issue (with your boat that is)? did i mention anything about your boat or experiences? if that is what worked for your, great. but as you said yourself, you exhausted all other options first.

nobody has slagged a trim tab in this discussion. am i reading the same post everyone saying its good the problem is solved? and that they work? but i agree entirely they are a band aid in this case. trim tabs are to make a working boat run better..this boat came out of the box with a problem. to get it running properly without tabs, then add them would give you the best performance. I told you so is a comment everyone loves to hear. and its unlikely you are the only guy on the forum who knows how trim tabs work.

How about getting a barrel?? -
Rampant here lew - sometimes the whole car, a window here, a rummaging there, stereo a couple times, sometimes just a look thru.. The worst ones are when they do a significant amount of damge but DON'T TAKE THE DAMN THING!!! I can honestly say I don't know anyone that hasn't had their car stolen or broken into in this area. Its usually the nicer neighborhoods and shopping areas that are targeted..remember there is "hamilton" and then the surrounding towns that amalgamated..this is where most of the cars get yanked.
-
ive been the victim of auto theft over a dozen times - both whole vehicle or break in. police in our area do not respond to car theft of any kind. you need to make a police report for your insurance company you go to the police station and get in line for one. had an officer tell me once that auto theft in hamilton (6000 vehicles a year BTW) was a 'victimless crime' as the insurance company covers your losses anyway...took my breath away!! so the idea that local enforcement is gonna send out the CSI team to satisfy you over some dusty handprints is laughable.

i wish we did have a spot around here where we could drift and jig walters...good spots just arent along the north shore or outside of the longpoint spit. there are some better places outside of maitland where you might do better. id rather not deal with all the gear, and the engine running...
-
thats great bob - while some will likely disagree, jigging and drifting walleye on this side of lake erie is unproductive, mostly trolling and rigging.. well done

There is info online including pictures of feet swollen 2 shoe sizes..they can give you carrions disease and a form of malaria, the name eludes me and i couldnt spell it anyway, though this is more likely in the tropics.

you can prevent with repellents high in deet. suntan lotions and especially oils keep them off somewhat. when your feet are covered in dry sand try to make a habit of brushing them off quickly. treatment - clean the area that is bit thouroughly - even go so far as alcohols or peroxide - this will prevent them getting too bad and reduce itching..afterbite type stuff works too. if they get nasty or scabbed clean with lots of peroxide - it softens the scab and gets underneath. antibacterial ointments will keep you from coming home with something worse.

So, the advice seems to be its OK because its unlikely you will get caught. Where are these guys gonna be when/if you do get a visit?? There are zillions of land owner ponds getting fished against the regs i tend to agree little harm to do..but your efforts to find out are a good idea..maybe keep your inquiries low key...

great vid. once you start laughing they will do it all night. (keystone beer commercial) recognize the hottie

some of the things that have gone on in cabins I have rented this guy wouldn't want to watch..

-
ive never caught sheep in the harbour. hundreds of bass though.

ya can't ever feel bad about the conservation and resevoirs around this area. Canoe, shore , tournament bass boat, same results. very tough going. just have fun and enjoy.

staffman - im going to suggest day use of the trent severn already involves the use of a 20$ boat ramp ( at a private facility ) and the charge of something like 1.60/ft to use the lock one time. it is as you are suggesting at this time methinks. so i would suggest the user fee is already in place. other than the payment of a launch fee, one can boat on the french river without further fees, like just about any other body of water. you could say the use of lake simcoe has user fees, if you were to stay and launch out of a provincial park like sibbald point or something. but there is not a "day use - or seasonal membership" to tool around in your boat. i was just using the french river as an example, perhaps i should have picked another...
-
i suppose i was considering just docks and locks to be manmade but yes i see the whole system to be a creation of dams and such. gothca. if the trent severn area wants to charge for use, you can bet say, the french river area will want to charge for its use as well. lake scugog is also manmade. i would say most/ ok many, lake systems are controlled by dams and other installed water control measures. while corrected on the man made part, i still dont see boating down the lake the same as i see renting a racquet ball court for an hour or getting unlimited text messages. would you put some coins in a slot to sit on a park bench, or walk down the beach? and look at the lake, or just a few bucks to canoe on it?
-
user fee to be on a lake? no problem paying to use a dock, a lock, etc. but a lake? a quote from the article.. "If you want to ride your motorcycle on the road or ride your snowmobile on the trail, you have to pay a fee." hey this i get because someone built the road, or the trail, owns the land, etc. but the govt didnt build the lake.

Does anyone know about the bronte fishing club? Are all of their members travelling around filming rock flopping oos fish caught one after another? IMO these guys got all dressed up to go fishing and dont care what they catch as long as they get something to post. Personally, i wouldnt want this video to represent my fishing club. Pick up the fish! Ya got gloves on sally!
