  1. Yeah mine has that do, but thats to remove the cover that holds in the spool etc I had to get at the gears.
  2. No, the cover on the other side. I had had the three screws removed, but the cover was still secure. There was another bar type screw holding it from the other side.
  3. Never mind, I figured it out... Sorry
  4. Hey guys, I need to get inside my reel cause the gears aren't engaging after a cast. I've got the reel and drag assembly removed, as well as the three screw that seem to hold the cover on, but an unable to remove it. Does anyone have any experience disassembling this reel? Thanks
  5. I bought a 2 piece casting Shimano Voltaeus (spelling??) at CTC for under $70. I believe they have several diff models available.
  6. HAHA, I never though about it that way.
  7. OUCH X2 I might regret saying this, but I have yet to get a hook into me past the barb. But with as much fishing as a do, it might be inevitable. Be sure that when it happens, OFNers will be the first to know...lol
  8. My father had a pretty large harvest this year as well. Very big cloves!
  9. Nice report! All these camping posts are starting to make me jealous... I'm going to have to get my butt in gear beofre the summer is over.
  10. That 32" walleye is a monster!!!! Nice catch!
  11. Ok, so technically it is my personal best, but only cause its the first one I've caught! I've been starting to cast the bigger baits alot lately trying to boat my first ski. Headed out with confidence last night and it paid off, well sorta...lol Can you believe this guy hit a believer...haha Was working it through submerged cabbage like a jerk bait and this little guy hit like a freight train!
  12. Haha I want to say it can't get much worse...but I'm sure you will disagree with me.
  13. Had the same thing happen to me. Couldnt figure out how to remove it.
  14. What if I reduce the lengh of the transom saver by one notch. It will be that much more vertical, and will still help reduce the bounce.
  15. Thanks Roebag! The decision to use a transom saver was not to avoid damaging the skeg. It was to reduce the amount of bouncing I was seeing. Adding the transom saver help this alot. I understand %100 what you mean, do you think the motor as it sits with the transom saver on is to horizontal?
  16. I second that! My Otter Box has saved my phone a dozen times over...
  17. I think someone might have played a good prank on your friend
  18. This is how I have been trailering my boat. Like I had mentioned in a previous post, I initailly did not have a transom saver, but began using one shortly after purchasing. You'll notice in this picture that the motor had preveously been in the lower position, I think it was to fine tune the depth because there is a hydrofoil stabalizer installed as seen in the first pic. And this is the Transport Canada plate...
  19. I have an HTC by Android. Beats the over rated iPhone IMO.
  20. In my very short experience trailering my boat, I noticed a huge difference when I added the transom saver. The motor would bounce quite a bit without the transom saver, and when I started using it, it seemed solid like a rock. Even with the transom saver on, the motor is not very horizontal. If anything, its more vertical than horizontal. I'll post pics of how I've been trailering it shortly...
  21. What you said makes alot of sense. Maybe I should remove the transom saver, looks like it might be doing more harm then none. I do have a 20" transom.
  22. I've looked everywhere for a weight rating with no luck. All I can find is a max HP rating. I emailed Lund and havent got any reply yet. I've called 6 different Lund dealers across Ontario and none of them can tell me with the weight rating, all they know is the HP rating. I will try allbrandboatrepair.com and see if they can help. The engine is a 2008 Honda 30HP and weighs 72.5 kgs(160 lbs). My boat is a Lund WC 16 DLX.
  23. Theres obveously issues that need to be delt with, but in in the meantime, would it be a bad idea to continue using it? I would certainly keep a close eye on it... Also, can anyone recommend someone in the North Bay area that repairs/rebuilds transoms on alluminium boats? What does this type of job usually cost?
  24. All I see is a few nice bass I'd like to hook into.
