  1. Dang.. I was going to get out with the bow this afternoon..
  2. Glas to see they replied back, AFTER the turkey season closed.. I guess you know for next season. Thanks for the update Brian.
  3. That's crazy eh. Congrets to the winning team!
  4. On last kick at the can for me. Then the duck blind goes on the boat. I'd be more then happy with 15 10"ers for a meal..
  5. Thanks Brian! That's between my house and the boat launch! Takin my parents out perchin for the first time tomorrow morning. If you're down there and see an ugly camo 14" tinner, with a Johnson seahorse 25 (cap), give a wave
  6. There was a bunch of people fishing from shore at the Tiffin St boat launch. Not so many the last weeks or two though. I would pick a place to start, and if you don't get anything, just keep moving along the shore. There's lots of spots to shore fish in Barrie.. From Tiffin St boat launch, all the way up to Hooters.
  7. A friend and I are looking at splitting the cost of a 200 acre property. I'm also pondering the same things you are. No good advice here, but I'll be watching this post carefully. Hopefully you get some good advice!
  8. I took the Bear that I just bought (from a pawn shop) to the Wolf's Den. They found the cheapest possible way to set it up to suit my build. It only cost me $4. Good bunch a people out there.
  9. Same here... Got it in the mail yesterday.. Of coarse I've already been out with the bow twice.. But I haven't touched my shotgun stand.. It's looking promising, the deer trails are beat to
  10. The Elk burgers from Universal are so tasty!! Good buffalo peperettes too
  11. If you'r wife wants you to spend a little money on yourself, then have a look at one of these. http://www.hoyt.com/compound_bows/details/carbon+matrix+plus I just bought a Bear, and am loving it. However, it's my first compound, so I nothing to compare it too. Picked it up in mint condition with lots of extras at a pawn shop for $300.. Set up almost perfectly for me. Good luck with your search. You'l love bow hunting!
  12. Good stuff man! Looks like you guys had a blast
  13. I've always wanted to hit Nip in the winter. Pick a date, chances are I'm in!
  14. It's good that the body was finally found. Sad.. But at least there's some closer for the family.
  15. GB, Maybe one day we'll cross paths on Simcoe.. 2 votes for the eyes!
  16. Just get a few turkey broad heads. The ones the open up wide. I know guys that cut heads off turkeys from 60 yards with those things!
  17. Before you said you wanted "the best grouse gun possible".. Now you'r talking about hunting turkey with the same gun. Two totally different quarry.. If your hunting Turkey you pretty well need a 12g. 410 is out of the question. 20g is questionable. Get an 870 pump.. Or whatever brand you prefer, so long as it's a 12g. I only know a few people who hunt turkey with a 20g. I would say 99.9% use a 12g. And they work great for grouse too!
  18. I love thanksgiving weekend! Friday after work I'm heading to the Ellmvale fall fair to take part in a fundraiser for my volunteer SAR team. Cooking hot dogs and burgers at the tractor pull. From there heading to the cottage on Six Mile. Duck hunting in the morning Saturday, then sighting in the shotgun scope in the aft. Sunday heading to the family farm in Peterborough for a day with the family. Monday morning is up in the air. 1 of 3. Duck hunting in Ramera, Duck Hunting/Salmon fishing on G-Bay, or Deer hunting in Innisfil.. Have a safe and enjoyable weekend everyone
  19. There's going to be 200 people there this weekend trying to get free addmission.. I'll be one of them!
  20. I would have to aggree with the previously mentioned 870 combo. If you'r only going to get one gun, the combo gun with 3 barrels covers almost every situation I can think of.. I just bought one, with a scope, all in (taxes included) for $780 brand new from Lebaron.
  21. I have to second all the comments about Salus. IMO they are by far the best floaters on the market. Life vests too. Canadian made to boot. I'm 5'11" 220.. I picked up a Salus Endurance last season, and am way beyond happy with it.. The leg length is fully adjustable.
  22. I'm glad to see you've changed your mind from the 6hp you where talking about earlier this year.

    RIP Sly.

The first time I met sly was at a ice fishing tournament. We where competing against each other. He couldn't speak at that point in his life. But he sat there for a 1/2 hour writing on a peace of paper telling how I could catch a ling that would win me the tournament.. We have lost a true gentleman today. It's really is sad. But as others have noted, not unexpeted. This week, I have lost to freids to Cancer, one of which was only 21 years old. Sad week..
  24. Keep you head up bud. Sounds like your family really needs you right now. My heartfelt condolences regarding the misscarriage..
  25. For sure, Ken's a wicked driver. I met him at tallpines a few years back. L'Estage is my fav rally drive though..
