  1. I drove one in the virgin islands and I cant say enough good things about the way it drives and handles. My syster also has an Odysee Beyond that, the civic is great on gas AND has a high resale value. Honda builds a solid engine that will outlast any GM IMO We are planning on gettigna new car in a few months, its most likely gonna be a Civc. The Yaris and the Golf are the next choices, but I hear VW parts can be costly.
  2. Looks like a good reel, go for it! I leared to use a baitcast using braided line. I foudn it was easier to undo birdnests becuse you can pull teh line really hard and not worry abotu stretching and breaking it like you would if you use mono. The only way to get good is practice practice practice. Dont get discouraged if you cant cast well right away. I would avoid castign into heavy winds until you have a solid feel for teh reel.
  3. There are crappie in Redmond bay near the northeast corner (although I ahve never fished for them through the ice)
  4. If it aint chartreuse, it's got no use.
  5. seto is correct, global warming doesnt mean warmer weather. It just means more extreme weather
  6. If you are talking about quitting smoking, just think of how many more fishing trips you can spend with you children and grand children if you lived extra 8 years!
  7. Mine fishes with me, but she has trouble holding her own fish (well not the little ones)
  8. Just check out this page if you want to blow money on expensive reels! http://japantackle.com/
  9. The guy at BPS actually told me that didnt make a left handed verion. I asked to borrow their catelog and pointed out that they did.
  10. Its actaully a few years old already and has solid reviews as well! review: http://www.tackletour.com/reviewshimanocalcuttatedc.html I almost picked one up in 2004, but they didnt have the left hand model in store. (just aswell, my VISA bill was(is) too big) Personally, i'd like to see a slightly larger version come out. The newset version is the low profile one...cost is about $650 review: http://tackletour.com/reviewshimanocalaisdcreview.html
  11. I've been using one (e20) sicne they came out . I'v used alot of spinning reels, and this one is by far the best. I am a big fan of Quantum in general, but this is more then just a good looking reel. Woth every penny if you ask me. I've mainly used mine for bass, walleye and the ocasional pike. PS. Parts DO scratch, so if you want to keep it pretty dont put it down on rocks or let it bang around in the bottom of the boat like I do...
  12. Joey, to make it red (or any coulour) look on the edit signature screen - there is an icon in the form of the letter 'A'. It is beside the area where you choose your font.
  13. Whats your address whopper?
  14. Nice job Dan, which camera did you use for those?
  15. I make some aswell, mine are geared mostly toward pike. So far they have produced well at Toronto islands, and i'll be doing more testing this May at LV. Also got a couple musky at the Bog, as well as some perch, rockbass and largemouth. Each made with #8 french blades... This is the biggest fish so far, caught on the "Bog Special" Big enough for pike and musky, but caught a few smaller fish aswell...
  16. Nice job Dan!
  17. nicely done!
  18. Its gotta be pretty close to the 55lb world record... heres the Manitoba monster...
  19. nice!!
  20. My solution is to not use 6lb line. I used to use light lines all the time, but after loosign a couple beauty fish and some expensive lures, it only makes sense to use a heavier line. I'd rather horse in a fish on heavy line then use it to light line, better for my photos and the fish I reckon.
  21. I led a very sheltered life in my younger years, and its pretty sad when kids are exposed to these days. People grow up a lot faster now then they did when i was a kid(and that wasnt very long ago!) I feel for you TJ, cant be an easy task rasing kids in this day and age. I dont pay much attention to the new myself.
  22. nice job, looking good - I always have trouble gettign heavy beads at a good price
  23. That same thing has happened to may way to many times. Powerpro can take a beating, but fishing near a bridge it can be very difficutl to keep those tarpon.
  24. Tarpon are my specialty, not cudas The big cudas are few and far between in the BVI
  25. Thanks!
