  8. You mean you actually target pickerel, I thought you only caught them on musky baits while musky fishing I've used 80lb Seagar and is great, I'm guessing al their fluro is great
  9. I fished there a couple seasons ago in late July, weeds were EVERYwhere. Ripping a spinnerbait just above the weeds caught us plenty of largemouth though.

  16. You guys both did a great job! I havent started tyign yet, but I will soon! When I was fishing tarpon in the BVI I met a couple fly fishermen they said chartuce is key. One of they guys is a pretty big name in fly fishing and has stops to making some tarpon flys on his site in the article section - check it out... Jack Gartside Flys If I remember correctly, he also said a shirmp imitation fly was key.
  17. Personally, I havent used a net in years (except the last tiem I fished with Bill). I can say with confidence that I can get a big fish in and land it without it reaching exhaustion - thats what heavy line is for! As long as you have a good grip on the fish, they usually settle right down. On tip I can offer when holding up a big fish for a photo is to hold is near or over teh water. If the fish starts to thrash, you can let it go into the water rather into the boat or onto some rocks.
  18. how are you liking Vimeo??
  19. We are no longer allowed to discuss the weight of pike either.
  20. I always have my camera ready before I take the fish out of the water. When fishing alone I get the camera into position first, with the timer on for 10 seconds, more then enough time to get the fish out usually. The timer is KEY. Here are a couple I took with no photographer. The camera was balanced on a rock on shore while I went in the water. and this one was well over 50 pounds, so it CAN be done by yourself! (its not my best photo, but its better then nothing! The camera went off before I was ready in this one...
  21. There are hundreds of shore fishing spots in the GTA Stoty. I posted photos of my spots once, now everytime I go theres this weird guy named Grant fishing there and for some reason is magical aura around him that blurs out 75% of everything around him...
