  1. Sorta like Alka Seltzer
  2. Just came from the Sportman Show at the Lindsay Fairgrounds. Nice little show. A bit of everything. Talked to a young guy in a booth Developed a product called BaitCloud. You drop a scented effervescent ball in the water and it fizzes and releases a scent and bubbles from the lake bottom Supposed to attract fish. Originally developed for ice fishing. Comes in a three pack. $10 at the show. Bought the shad scent. Might work or be a gimmick. Anybody hear of this? BaitCloud.com
  3. Thanks Cliff Crazy rain this month. Any flooding anywhere?
  4. Cool. Does that apply to Honda machines too?
  5. Watching this thread for answers. Lots of knowedgable folks to hear out. Am wondering why you would get Kawasaki parts for a Grizzly?
  6. Rick is right. The OPP target houseboats for booze. Especially in pinch points like locks and Gannon Narrows. Driver needs to be dry.
  7. Lots of houseboats tie up on the east side of Big(Boyd) Island, north Pigeon. Make a fire. Go for a hike.
  8. You'll have a blast. All fish species open then. 4 days is just about right with that many people. To include everyone, for fun, have a panfish tournament. You have to tie up to shore at night. Think about where.
  9. Try to have a mostly empty gas tank in the boat for less weight.
  10. Very good news
  11. Pick your days. A north wind is ok Anything out of the south or east is troublesome. Anything over 10-15 km wind is a deal breaker in a smaller boat.
  12. Beauti shots!
  13. You are wise. Lake O will take you out and laugh at you as you drown ?
  14. Drop in at Henry's for a chat. They price match anybody. Canon better for video. Nikon might have an edge on photos. Both are great brands. Don't overlook Sony. They make the sensors for other top brands. Used to be SLR crazy. Hardly use it anymore for regular shots since I got the iPhone 6. Hope Joey chimes in. She takes incredible wildlife shots.
  15. Looks like a healthy carp to me. Did you only fish the western outflow?
  16. Saw it at the show at the Shimano booth. Thinner than reg PP. Didn't see it at retailers.
  17. Only fished Algonquin once at trout opener. Lots of guys out. We fished shallow. Tried everything Nothing. End of day at the launch, nobody caught except 2 guys. They jigged salted minnows in 60 ft with sonar in canoe. Couldn't believe it.
  18. North east Pigeon still frozen. Water levels rising.
  19. Flood watch in Burnt River area
  20. Did the trip with the van and family 10 yrs ago. Took ferry to Port aux Basque. Gross Morne (spelling) and took the Transcanada to St Johns Wanted to catch an Atlantic salmon in the rivers. Had to buy fly rod gear and hire a licensed guide. No luck. Lots of great scenery. Moose. Puffins. Icebergs. Gotta kiss the cod and get screeched in. Ferry was expensive. $700 there and back. Weather can suck even in summer. Gotta see it once Not sure I'd go back. Fairly depressed economy now with low oil.
  21. There are all kinds of digital channels available with these antennas. Lots of people have dropped cable and have gone with them. In the GTA you can get over 10 channels. Just not specialty stations like CNN, Discovery etc.
  22. We cottage not far from you in north Pigeon. We use an antenna in the attic for TV. Used to get CBC and CTV. As of last year no more CBC by antenna for the Peterborough area. Very upsetting. I thought CBC is supposed to be available everywhere!!! What gives? Anybody know?
  23. Good report. Went tonight. Was slow. Didn't buy anything. Nice not to have to pay for parking.
  24. I thought not even the FBI can do that. Big issue in the US now.
  25. I used to do well mid afternoon. The only time I could go. I don't like using minnows. By buddy used them and smoked me 10:1 until I changed. The water is super clear. Fluoro leader also good idea.
