  1. Nice work! I was out there today as well with a buddy but we couldn't get them to commit. quite a few follows and two legitimate bites but couldn't get the hook in em. Tried everything i could think of to entice them. They seemed to follow the williams the most but would sniff it and leave
  2. wow, what a great day! Glad all your effort paid off and thanks for posting!
  3. I picked up one of the cheap 30# deals on sale last spring for my canoe. I used it about a dozen times and haven't had any problems with it at all.
  4. Nice work as usual, always enjoy your reports! Thanks for sharing.
  5. Thanks, still definately too thin for me. Hopefully tomorrow's impending warm spell doesn't do too much damage to it and I can get out next weekend.
  6. Great report and tips, thanks for sharing!
  7. Sucks about the skunk but at least you got into some the next outing, nice work! How thick was the ice out of BBP? 2.5-4" out of oro is too thin for my comfort level.
  8. Beauty boat and the best of luck to you on kicking the butts!
  9. wow that first brown is faaaat! thanks for the post
  10. That second pic with the rod bent is awesome! Looks like you guys had a great day, thanks for the report!
  11. Hey there. I was out at IBP for my first ice session of the year as well. yes they are charging for parking. Insane amounts of people out there (mind you that was my first time at that location, so maybe it's normal). I am not as brave as most so we stayed over 60' of water and the ice was about 6". We had a couple sleds pass close by and felt some movement in the ice as they passed which was a littly freaky but it was subtle and we still felt safe. We caught about 20 perch, mostly dinks. Two over 10"s one being 12.25 on a small white twister tail on a jig head. Most of the dinks were lured in with aggresive jigging using williams. All in all a fun day on the ice, and i can't wait to get out deeper for lakers and whities
  12. Sorry to hear you didn't get any whities but at least you didn't get skunked... Thanks a bunch for the report!
  13. Ya I was thinking about heading up to oro to check it out but I will stay clear of it and not waste the trip that far up. Thanks for the quick reply!
  14. Anyone know the thickness of ice on the deeper areas. I am thinking about heading up there tomorrow and was hoping to go for lakers/whiteys but I am not too brave when it comes to thinner ice. Should i just stick to perch/pike for now and give it more time to thicken up? Any advice here or via pm would be greatly appreciated. -Alphaalpha.
  15. maybe just for the real game practice of pulling the goalie...it's probably difficult to actually simulate that feeling of really not wanting to have that empty netter scored against you. That and the pressure of NEEDING to score in that final minute.
  16. Definately a worthy cause, good work so far on the site. I couldn't make it last year but hope to this year.
  17. Always enjoy the underwater vids, thanks for posting!
  18. Thanks for taking the time and effort to post a great report! looks like you had an awesome time and congrats on the big fish honors!
  19. Yes I have checked out other fishing boats as well but as it is to be a `family` boat my wife wanted her 2cents in. She had her eyes on more of the fiberglass cruise and ski boats while i was concerned with the fishing aspects. As the legend xcalibers have the nice cushions for up front for her to tan on and the bench in the back as well, that satisfied her enough to be steered away from the fiberglass jobies. I do really like the legend boats as well and will be upgrading to 115hp 4stroke. You get a deal on the upgrade at the boat show as well as a bow mount trolling motor added on. With it being the ideal size (18.5`) i don`t see needing to upgrade or anything for a very very long time. now i just gotta raise the limit on my line of credit so i can finance it for 4% instead of 7%.
  20. That really sucks about all that has happened to him but quite good luck that they found out about the allergy before it was too late. All the best to Dano and I hope he recovers quickly! -Adam.
  21. I was there on Saturday with my wife looking for ideas for our first "family" boat. We both really liked the Legend 19xcaliber. We think we might get it with an upgraded motor.
  22. That was definately a fun way to do the contest, thanks for putting it on! congrats to all the winners!
