  1. We had the 2 minutes of silence at work. I was glad to see every single customer stop what they were doing and stop to remember as well. I hate when someone continues talking or doing what they're doing during the 2 minutes of silence. I find it a huge showing of disrespect.
  2. Erie tribs have been suckin' this year ... early september there was a run but it seems to have gone now everything blows! I've also been skunked nearly every trip.. but that's usual for me. lol
  3. Started walking the Lynn yesterday and I think I walked every inch of it from the north side of town to the south side of town. Really felt like steelheading, heck I even had corn bags tied up. Every logjam had 4 or 5 sitting behind it but they would spook if I got anywhere close enough to make a drift. Bout halfway on my journey I hooked one in a narrows probably 6lbs and my hook & float came flying back at me. This was a good time to realize I busted the point off my hook at some time earlier. Didn't hook another fish (but saw TONS) until the very other end of the river where I hooked a two pounder and I couldn't even keep HIM hooked as he darted into a bush instantly. 0 / 2 on CARP sheesh just a bad day. Was nice to walk the whole town of Simcoe again though. There really are some beautiful stretches of river there.
  4. Same thing happened to us a month back. Stuff was all over the truck. SP's wallet & credit card were in there, left untouched. Only things they took were a bag of oreos and my old, crappy cell phone. The next day they text messaged Sugarpacket from the stolen phone! Idiots. Cops said there's been several break ins to vehicles the last week on my block.
  5. Don't listen, last ice is prime big pike time, get er done
  6. I'm already drawing up plans. I figure I'll put a couple of 2x4 planks as braces with some metal elbow supports to rest on the seats. That should be able to support plenty of weight. Thanks Justin!
  7. Sheephead = local tilapia If you like tilapia, you'll like sheephead. Just don't ever boil it! It makes the house stink for WEEKS! (boiled the meat once to put in home made dog food)
  8. Beauty! Pics got me drooling! Congrats on the PB
  9. That casting deck idea is something I'm totally going to rip off!
  10. And they say tracking moose is difficult. Just sit there with a bow, they come to you!
  11. Not a big fan of war movies, but I will give it a look. Thanks for the heads up.
  12. Ohhhhh a mod, how convenient! Congrats Rick!
  13. Are you SURE you didn't just put Hamilton Harbour water in a glass?
  14. Watched a video of a guy landing "huge" (1lb) bass on the bigger version of the Pen fishing rod. Looks like a fun novelty item. I could see the convenience of a rod that secretly fits in your pocket though.. when you go on those trips where the wife says not to bring a fishing rod. "I gotta uhhh.. go to the bathroom again"
  15. Actually I learned my lesson the last time I dropped big bucks on a rod, albeit it was a flippin' stick. St Croix shattered to pieces on the 3rd hookset. Thanks for the input and alternatives guys.. am now seriously looking into the Okumas. I've been impressed with their other products in the past. Good quality and mid-prices.
  16. My rod holders are bolted right into the boat seats. Of course, not much you can do creatively to a 14' tinnie.
  17. Awesome stuff! Sitting outside on my smoke break today, I couldn't help but think "this REALLY should have been one of my sick days" Keep letting us fish vicariously through you Justin!
  18. Aw man, the general rules of the internet - never bring up politics or religion!
  19. I love my Ugly Stiks, though I always figured anything heavy enough for musky would be far too heavy for me to be lobbing big baits on all day. I know the Ugly Stik Lite series rods are pretty light. Was wondering if anyone has the Tiger Lite series rods and are they worth it for musky fishing? I really don't want to hear a rant on buying St Croix or other incredibly expensive musky rods. I fish musky twice a year so I'm happy with an inexpensive, yet effective musky rod. If anyone has low priced, durable alternatives I'd like to hear them. I had a BPS Graphite Series musky rod but as temps dropped last fall, the ceramic guides began to fall apart.
  20. There is a cure, it's called NIAGARA
  21. I had a similar day - amazing weather but fishing was slow. In my typical fashion I hooked one about the same size as yours but lost it soon after. lol Great work, great report!
  22. Rich

    Big one..

Would certainly be entertaining to hook that on the float reel
  23. Congrats Obama. Bush fished and hunted. just sayin.
  24. Supposedly in the next couple of years we won't be able to get within 2 miles of Nanticoke outflow. Should be funny, they'll have to stop every boat exiting Hoover's marina.
  25. Wow, what a day down there! Congrats! I always wondered when the next Dunnville report would include a steelhead.
