There's that big lake on the south side. Ontario, I believe its called?

A medium action spinning combo for that price oughta last a lifetime no matter what the make. It better cuz I've never paid more than 80 for a whole spinning outfit and mine last a good 10 yrs on average. If it were me, I'd get him two cheaper ones. Ugly stik lite rods, 7' with shimano sahara reels. Two lifetime combos for the price of one.

What an usually late run this year. Awesome stuff.

Yessir as suggested you need some backing! Hockey tape, electrical tape or mono work, but ya gotta have something there.

LOL

Haha, I feel the same way about specks. Or creek perch as I call them.
-
Sounds like some real big fish water. Nice one!
-
I seriously fit in it's mouth up to my waist. It was 12 pounds!
-
This wasn't a serious question. It is a pet peeve but I do as Dan wisely suggested in real life situations. Lol Some far more in-depth insight on it than expected though.
-
It is SUCH a pet peeve for me. I'm out fishing and truthfully feel trusting enough of a fellow angler sharing the water to tell him of a big fish I caught there, with a truthful weight of 4.5 or 5 pounds.. and they fire back with "oh yeah?! I got an 8 pounder here last May" or most recently "i got a 10 pounder on that tiny 1ft deep pond". Then they pull out the pics. From that point on I have to decide how to handle this elegantly. I can't let it slip as the bass in the picture looks 3.5 giving about a pound benefit of the doubt for bad photography. Do I yell "LIAR" in his face, and smash him with a paddle? Hmm maybe too violent. Do I make a clever joke, like "last time I got one that big it was 2 pounds!" , or do I make an innocent comment like "was that on a scale?" Or "how old is your scale?" ... I just don't get it. I hear it all the time from lots of people. Why? Like, just.. why do it?! By the way, I am in NO WAY accusing anyone here of doing this!

Most fish were so unbothered by the tournament experience they actually returned to the exact place they were caught.

Left Handed Muskie Fisherman - A Dying breed
Rich replied to Lunkerhunter's topic in General Discussion
How accurate can you toss a lure with your left arm? That's the point of switching hands. Not ease of turning the crank. -
From the title of this thread I thought you were looking for people to come hang out by your fence, lmao
-
Lots of carp all through that stretch if you're into that though.
-
My dad used to say to everyone "any fly will catch a carp" and sure enough when he went fly fishing he'd close his eyes and grab any fly in the box...... Then wrap it in pillsbury crescent roll dough, sit and wait. Yeah. Dad never really understood fly fishing.
-
I've had salmon in creeks hit every lure you can think of. The chase and smash. I catch them on musky and bass lures in the fall. And no, I don't snag ( it would actually be more difficult than actually catching them, so why bother?) So to believe that 99.9999999 of the fly fish were snagged in the mouth? Sorry. More like 50/50. If they will turn and smash a spinnerbait or a SPOOK then im sure flies could trigger them just as well.

You can drink a beer in your yard perfectly legally. Cops only used to give us crap if we went on the sidewalk.
-
This thread is hilarious. Man a cop would have to be having a real bad day to write that ticket!
-
"The head of the fish looks as big as his head" "He is not holding it towards the camera at all" Two statements that conflict a little. Lol What a monster! I dunno about record class or anything like that, but it sure is a trophy musky. Being able to tell how long or heavy from that pic/hold would be completely impossible.
-
Wow just realized you wrote time to work, not time to fish lmao
-
Quite honestly: time to fish is never the problem. I ignore every other aspect of life to do it, pretty damn near every day. And I mean any and all "normal" parts of life, lol... Not for me.

The east end is shallower, west end is super deep. There are buoys marking most hazards. Keep an eye for boulders when cruising the shallows of the east end and closer to the islands.
-
I like to cut fresh chub minnows or golden shiners into chunks, with weeds under float is best. Circle hook and big chunks for summertime fish. Maybe even try a whole dead chub. Fresh bait, not stink bait catches the biggest ones.

Thank you sir! That is the new hull they sent im sitting on in the pic. I had the wrong hull the first time, my floorboards didnt fit and stressed the seam. That was very apparent when I pulled the new boat out and didn't have to swanton bomb the floorboards in just to get them down. Lol New hull works great!
