I vote Fuji FP as well. Great cameras , great battery life. I dunno if olympus has changed but they used to make you buy battery packs seperate, kept me from buying one.

Same as all kawarthas, weedlines! I forget the name of the bay on the south side of the lake, but there is a marina/campground at the back end of it. I have connected with walleyes on the deeper weed edges of that bay, using orange mister twisters and a slow drift. Hope that helps, good luck!

They are birds with solid bones and a hefty weight, they need to eat a LOT of meat to stay strong enough to survive... Sometimes this requires killing off the competition.

Heres one that has led to a fight on my boat.. Buddy is sitting there, defeated, no longer fishing. I whip a senko into a tree and miss a big fish. Before I can get my bait back in I see his senko going right into the spot I just missed the fish. Grrrrrrr

In port dover we called them "fish flies" growing up. They would cover every square inch of the town this time of year. Every car driving down the road had a disgusting continuous crunch under its wheels running over them. We used to fill jars of them and go trout fishing! Haha

Dude you're lucky to not have been attacked, those things are mean birds. They are very territorial and will drown newcomers to their lake occasionally. Once in a while rogue flocks of 8-10 loons will move onto a new lake and bully the current loons out this way too.

I hear both sides of this story and understand them, but what's done is done. You should be a well enough angler that you don't need 'secret spots' as a crutch to catch fish. But it sure ain't the right thing to do, for anyone, EVER - to give away spots you worked to find. Unless of course they paid you for it.
