  1. 12 for me too. That was fun .
  2. So Bro, how did the repaired/patched hut work for you?
  3. Great pics, and a view into the past of the sport we all love. Thanks for posting.
  4. I have Uncles and Cousins in Alberta and they are always eager to bass fish when they come to Ontario because they don't have any at home. They live in Edmonton and Calgary and fish for trout in the Bow river as well as walleye and pike in lakes and resevoirs nearby.
  5. Crappie fight better, by weight, and taste as good or better than walleyes on the dinner table. Congrats on finding a successful pattern and sharing your info with us all .
  6. I believe they tend to group up in cold water making it easy to deplete a given water body's population quite easily.
  7. Looks like a gimmick to me .
  8. You could try the old stand by Abu 5600C3.
  9. They are over $1000 new, so I would expect around $500. Just guessing. You can get the little 11.5' pointed at both ends canoe used for around $300 if you keep an eye on your local classifieds, kijijji, or pennysaver. Chances are when most people decide to sell, friends or family usually snatch them up first.
  10. I've always used the 2A setting for charging my deep cycles.
  11. Must be a translation thing. On the tank of my BMW motorcycle it says "Keep head, wear helmet".
  12. Jitterbugs are awesome for night time topwater fishing. I have 6 in different sizes including the musky sized, the jointed & the weedless, which has two upturned hooks at the back to prevent picking up surface or floating weeds. All of them are BLACK and work great in early morning as well as at night. Nothing beats a big smallmouth or largemouth blowing up on a jitterbug at night. Pop, pop, pop, pop, pop...KASPLOOSH...fish on.
  13. Great story and one I'm sure your nephew will never forget. Truly an experience of a lifetime. Thanks for posting.
  14. I bought a replacement net and cut it in half to cap one end of both mine and my brother's cradles. I used fireline to sew it with. I lost a ski in the mid 30's (inches not pounds) because my bucktail got snagged in the mesh and the fish continued on and out through the other end. Now that one end is blocked I've landed a 48" & 49" with the new and improved cradle.
  15. Great song. Here's the version from the movie "Across the Universe" that came out last year. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ib9pJbHSUKE
  16. I heard that there is a spot that has opened up since this last rain we had. Please be careful if you go to Puslinch.
  17. My daughter caught her first fish, a crappie about 7", from Valens 2 weeks before her 2nd birthday. Last couple years they have been hard to come by.
  18. Very nice year end report, loads of pics and not much talk. Some real beauty fish for 2008. Good luck next year.
  19. Well Profisher25, I've caught musky on the chrome, gold chrome & perch colours. The thing I like the most about these Super Shads is you can troll them very fast and they don't roll over. Some lures once you get to a certain speed they stop wobbling and start rolling. That isn't going to catch you any fish, only twist up your line.
  20. Don't forget a big Super Shad for musky, pike, walleye & big bass. If I could only buy one, it would be the perch model.
  21. Had to do a little digging to find it, but here it is. The biggest fish that has been caught in my Sportspal. My brother, Joonmoon, with his 41" musky caught on opening day at Sturgeon lake a few years ago. We should do a Sportspal GTG next year, maybe at a conservation area where the gas burners won't spoil the peace and quiet.
  22. My mistake CodeRed, you are probably right about the silver pike. A 10lb red-fin pickeral would be a world record. My BAD .
  23. By the red in the tail, I'd say it's a red finned pickeral, not a pike. Were they all that small? That is about full grown size for a pickeral.
  24. I have been fishing from Sportspals for almost 20 years. Just recently I have converted to kayak fishing. One of my fishing buddies has two of them. I prefer the squareback or transom models because they allow more customization and seat upgrades as well as give you more room. Here are a few picks of my Sportspal adventures from 2008. Go Team Sportspal
  25. Well ohhenrygsr, there are bass, pike, perch, crappie, bluegill and other assorted panfish.
