  1. I saw Dio when he was with Rainbow and then again with Sabbath for the "Mob Rules" tour. Not many Metal singers sound as good live as they do on record, Dio was even better live. Never was a voice like his before and never will there be another. R.I.P.
  2. Roasted Garlic and Butter Fish Crisp is my favourite. I use hockey tape to blunt the ends of my jaw spreader so it doesn't do as much damage to the fish. It's not high-tech but it works.
  3. Step #1: Buy a used tricycle from Kijiji for #12. Try and get one with wheels that match the colour of your kayak . Step #2: Collect a few broken hockey sticks. I used 3 graphite and 1 wooden stick and copied the paddleboy design as it works well with the unusual hull design of my Ultimate kayak. Step #3: I used less than $5 worth of hardware to put it all together so total cost was under $20. I installed the wheels on the inside of the cart frame to keep a slimmer profile when the cart is on the back of the yak. This is how it will look on the water. I still have to add some pool noodle pieces to the contact points, to prevent scratching, and a bungee cord to hold it in place.
  4. Thanks Lew. It's always good to know another tackle store location .
  5. Nice Marko, I gotta get me one of those mirrors this year.
  6. There are a few Pelican owners on Yakfisher.net, they seem to be happy with their choices. Drop by the site and ask the same question, I'm sure you'll get an informed answer shortly.
  7. Wouldn't it be great if the Habs beat the Pens and the Bruins beat the Flyers? A Bruins verses Habs eastern final would go a long way to prove that the NorthEast division is the best in hockey today. The NorthEast was the only division in the NHL to send 4 teams to the post-season.
  8. I can't believe I'm going to say this but "Go Habs Go". I'd rather my Bruins face the Flyers instead of the Penguins.
  9. High 5 Anders
  10. Boston has their own 4 picks, 3 from Toronto for Phil, 1 from Minnesota (2nd round) for Kobasew & one from Tampa (2nd round) that came with the Recchi trade. That's how a GM can hedge his bets on Draft day. The Leafs have 1 chance at drafting a future NHL'er and Boston has 9 chances. Bring on the Pens or the Flyers, the Bruins can take either one. High 5 to Baldy.
  11. Cool piece of memorabilia Baldy. I think maybe the Leafs are still using that fitness test today and that's why they have been on the outside looking in since the lockout of 2005. You are dreaming tb4me if you think the Oilers are gonna trade that pick. Leafs have one pick in the first two rounds the next two drafts, a second rounder next year. The Bruins have 9 picks in the first two rounds the next two years. Which team do you think has a brighter future?
  12. The Sens were better than I thought they would be against the Pens. Gotta love the NorthEast division, the only division in the NHL this year to put 4 teams into the post-season. At least one will make the next round because of Boston vs Buffalo. Can't see the Habs completing the long shot comeback against the Caps. Flyers will lose but should soften up the Caps a bit along the way. The Pens will have a tougher time against either Boston or Buffalo but will meet the Caps in the East finals. Just like Bettman wanted .
  13. I can't believe the Rangers lost 4 in a row to let the Spits win the series. I guess that's junior hockey, where a lead is never safe and a series isn't over till the 4th game is won. Good luck Windsor.
  14. Miller's Timber Sands has a few camping spots. Great people operate that camp as well.
  15. Windsor just won game #4 by a score of 7-5 to stay alive and avoid being swept. The Spits went into the 3rd leading 4-1 before a combined 7 goal outburst from both teams to make for an exciting period. Rangers now lead the series 3 games to 1. Back to Windsor for game 5.
  16. He doesn't specify where on the Grand he is fishing Dave and with the post title GRAND RIVER TROUT BONANZA all in caps he's surely trolling for a reaction from other members.
  17. Get out and enjoy? I think I'll wait till the season opens before I venture out sucker fishing in a trout stream.
  18. Being from Kitchener maybe I'm a bit biased but a team will beat a superstar or two anyday. Spott has the boys playing like a real team and Skinner's draft ranking is rising higher every game. Go Rangers Go.
  19. Ya I do miss my Sportspal once in awhile knightfisher, but every time fozen-fire posts a report of him and his Dad or Girlfriend catching fish out of it I feel like a proud Papa.
  20. Yep, I sold my Sportspal when I found out I needed an operators card because I use an electric motor. Now I paddle a kayak and "I don't need no stinking operators card".
  21. Jack Lake Lodge has a ramp in that area. Where are you staying? We fished it for musky several years back and caught one walleye on a bucktail.
  22. If you want a marriage analogy....Why does divorce cost so much? Because it's worth it.
  23. Organized crime has nothing on Insurance companies when it comes to extortion.
  24. I would say that Leaf fans could learn a lot from Montreal fans. When you pay big money for a ticket and the show is sub-par, you have every right to let the team know how you feel.
  25. Good on ya for getting organized Cliff. I've often thought of getting some bumper stickers made up in bright Orange or Pink that say "POACHER" on them for the guys who fish Mountsberg illegally. Of course 2 wrongs don't make a right and I wouldn't be able to restrain myself in a confrontation. As for the racial profiling, it makes me very sad. I always make a point of saying hello or at least smile and wave when coming across visible minorities fishing. I can tell by the looks on their faces when they see me coming that they are expecting something quite the opposite and that isn't what this country is about.
