  1. Eugenia lake is the unofficial home of the largest population of WGSF (Rockbass) in Ontario. There are also carp and perch as well as small and largemouth bass but the Rockers outnumber them all.
  2. The lesson here is obvious, pay your bills on time... end of story. Also don't co-sign for a minor if they are not responsible enough to hold up their end of the contract. Goodlife is a business and is run like one. The reason so many people have had no problems with Goodlife is they pay their dues on time.
  3. Your daughter and wife would have got a "PINK" copy of the contract when they signed it. Goodlife charges only one $25 according to my wife but even if they did charge twice it's still your bank that is charging you $160.00. Your issue is really with the bank. Next time you go in to the gym ask to talk to the club admin, seriously, the managers don't really know what's going on in that regard.
  4. Goodlife tries twice but only charges NSF one time. It's not likely they would try again so 3 of those NSF charges were coming from somewhere other than Goodlife. Why would a teenager account give her freedom to issue NSF cheques? Won't the bank tell you the identity of the other attempted withdrawls?
  5. Ask to see the contract, it should not have been approved if there was no co-sign by parent/guardian. Wifey says that they only charge NSF once. Those other charges are not from Goodlife. Probably from your bank or CPA. Did she book any time with a personal trainer or tanning time that could also have incured a NSF?
  6. Because my wife works there I get a free membership. I told her to give it to her brother. The place is a pick-up joint masquarading as a gym anyway.
  7. Wifey says that, as a 17yr old, she couldn't have joined without a parent/guardian co-signing. After attempting to withdraw and getting NSF she would have incured a $25 charge from Goodlife as well as whatever charge your banking institution charges for the NSF. After a second attempt that results in another NSF, Goodlife will not charge again and will not send the account to CPA until 75 days after the first NSF. This gives time for the member to catch up on payments directly at the Gym. After the CPA takes over, only the manager can reverse this process and that is unlikely unless she shows up at the Gym with enough cash to cover her debt. This will not, however, have any affect on what she now owes to CPA or your bank. Sounds to me like you're between a rock and a hard place.
  8. The wife works for Goodlife as a Club Admin, when she gets home, I'll quiz her on it and get back to y'all.
  9. The Dog is right ELLIS. As soon as you put a motor on it you'll need an operators card or face a stiff fine. As kayakers "We don't need no stinking operators card".
  10. 25.5" Walleye caught in a brisk 20km/h East wind on the Grand river in Kitchener with a #4 inline spinner worked at good speed. So my answer is no, fish will eat in any wind.
  11. Raf & LL are right. Just a half twist between the hull and the car door will elimnate the buzzing problem.
  12. My choice would be Camp Ashtabula on Pigeon lake. Rob & Donna are great hosts. http://www.campashtabula.com/contact.shtml It's just north of Gannon's Narrows so a trip into Buckhorn is very handy as well.
  13. Haven't been to Wildwood this year yet but I always had luck right in the area where all the boats park near the launch for SM Bass. I also like the area across the lake in front of the sailing club for pike and the stretch where the cottages are for both bass and pike. My #1 lure was a white 1/8oz jig & grub combo.
  14. Hey justwannafish, check out Yakfisher.net. It's an Ontario (and some Quebec) kayak angler's site with many experienced and novice yakfishers. There are even a few Hobie PA owners on there that could help you with rigging ideas. I'm sure there are yakfisher members in your area. They even have a tournament series if you like the competitive thing. You can never trust what the manufacturers list as the weight of their yaks, I heard the PA comes in at 118lbs with seat and minimal rigging. Enjoy your new toy.
  15. I actually prefer the rain to a hot sunny day. After all, it's only water.
  16. Not that there's anything wrong with that .
  17. Great report and pics MJL. Good times fishing with Dad and good friends. It brings a tear of joy to my eye to see my old Sportspal out on the water catching fish, and yes those padded swivel seats are worth every penny. As far as a trolling motor goes, 30lbs or better will be plenty. More importantly, if you can afford it, get one with variable speed control instead of 5 forward and 3 reverse speeds. Some early mornings on calm water the #1 forward speed is way too fast and you can dial the speed to match any wind conditions with the variable.
  18. Never saw it, so won't miss it. Half an hour of fishing commercials is what most of these shows are anyway.
  19. Hill's. http://hillspuppykitten.ca/en/puppy/nu_prod.php
  20. Kaberle is the best Leaf player. He only wants to play for the Leafs so will not lift his "no-trade" at the deadline. He will go UFA at the end of the season and Burke and the Leafs will get nada for him, just like they did with Sundin. Burke won't offer him a decent extension to stay a Leaf so he will return home and play in the KHL for big bucks. The Toronto media and fans will cry and whine and feel like he has wronged them in some way when they should be happy that he played there at all. Burke will keep his job because the money keeps rolling in no matter what he puts on the ice and the Bruins will get the 1st overall pick in June.
  21. Which one? There are so many Round lakes in Ontario. I know a little about the one up by Barry's Bay if that's the one you mean.
  22. I'd go to Emily Provicial park on Pigeon lake and then rent a boat from Triple "T" Cedars resort nearby.
  23. Nice one Tybrad. It's stress that makes them change colour. Just means it's time to get them back in the water. Bluegills do this even more drastically. They start with a yellow belly that turns a dark orange grey after you have them out of the water for 10 seconds.
  24. That is a great pick Yush. At Guelph lake I could never get close enough to get a good pic.
  25. I'm with Dave on this one, Green Heron. I see them sometimes at Guelph lake.
