  1. I don't think the name would have been a big deal... But at the end of his posts he was making reference to a substance that isn't "family" friendly... So I can see how the image he was putting out there wasn't right for this "family" site... Sweet fishing man... Can't wait to get my first steelhead on a float...

  3. lol hey... this is new to me also... i figured out this pattern this fall and its a blast.... loads of walleye in huge schools... but they are very small... or at least smaller then im used to... 18 inches and under... then in the evening i can usually manage to troll up about 10 nicer size eyes... makes for a really fun day
  4. had another great weekend... managed 95 walleye on saturday... in about 8 hours... most were small fish on the jig but 10 were 20-24 inches on the troll at dark... then with the nasty weather on sunday i only got out for the evening bite... managed 9 walleye from 20-24 inches and a tiny little musky in about 2-3 hours... no pics cause they were small.... but next time out im gunna keep a couple for a fish fry so ill get some pics of these goofy looking fat fat walleye... they are literally like footballs...
  5. Ice... I still got a month in the boat... I hope... Then I'm back in the boat mid march...
  6. yeah... the record is broken every year ron... just carpers are very protective of their fish.. this is the second 40+lb fish between the group of guy i know that fish carp... most years a fish pushing 50lbs gets caught in my area...

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!! any day i get a big fish... my day is made... regardless of what happens next... the 2 biggest musky i got this year were first fish of the day... we boated 2 more each day after the big ones... the hard thing is when you boat a pig of a fish all the rest seem so small afterwords...lol

  13. Nope... It's a huge source of income for the rez community... There is like 20 stations on a 10 mile stretch on 1 road...
  14. i pay under $1.00 a liters for gas... im lucky the mohawk rez is only 5 minutes away... 3.69 per gallon 35 gallons=132.5 liters for $129

  16. i was thinking about getting a portable ice kit for my 597ci hd di and was wondering if anybody bought one of these kits? what does it come with? from what i can tell you need the kit... as well as a power cord and a ice-ducer... on amazon you can get all this for 160 bucks... then my 597 will be a year round set up... im talking about the KIT here... not just a soft pack... from what i can tell the kit comes with a soft pack...battery...charrger...and mount for head unit.. also... right now i have a vexilar fl-8 ultra pack... is it worth selling my vexilar to make the switch... im thinking about doing this so i can have sonar and gps on the ice as well as more features on my humminbird unit compared to my vex... thanks for any help everyone mike
  17. makes a huge differnce... a 2x6 or 2x8 is perfect... i keep one thats as wide as my portable... helps keep you drier as well as warmer...
  18. my old lady comes ice fishing... as long as shes warm she'll stay out... one trick is bring a piece of wood for her to put her feet on while fishing... the separation from the ice will help keep her feet warm... hot paws?... those single use heat pads from canadian tire... priceless thermos with soup or coffee... and if you can afford it... a portable shack and a good heater... i know im off topic... i dont know of any deals... but i thought id let you know the things i do to keep her warm...

  21. Actually 100 of them were in about 5 hours... Little ones... The after hitting the 100 mark I thought I'd try for some bigger fish... So I moved locations and fished the sunset bite... Got 5 more and one was 9lb 6oz...
  22. I had a neighbor that sold a boat... Always regretted it... Found it 10 years later halfway across Ontario... Bought it back.... Now every time he drives that thing hes got a smile from ear to ear...
