  1. :clapping: :clapping: i just wanted to feel the power of steel...lol i tried bribing him with very low priced musky tackle...
  2. I met ron on Saturday... First class guy... Talked about issues I had with law enforcement at a local marina in my boat... Great guy...
  3. on the other hand i caught 4 walleye and a pike and my dad running stock hooks only got one... maybe he couldnt feel the missed fish... maybe i got more bites... all the hits were very light last night... and i know after dark they dont hit the bullzeye every time... they are very very sharp tho... pricked my fingers a couple of times and the fish that did get hooked were not getting off... they really grab deep in the flesh...
  4. so it would be pretty tough for a beginer to steelhead fishing... ok...
  5. well... i tried the triple grips last night... you guys were right... "when" they hook a fish they grab deep... but i missed half the hits i had... i was afraid of this due to the inward bend of these hooks... im gunna give them the benefit of the doubt and hope that the fish were bumping the baits last night...
  6. your not the first to tell me to go state side... the tribs are just as close and some are closer then ontario tribs.... and from what ive seen... the river in pulaski is massive... maybe my next trip be be for american steel...
  7. So considering im only gunna dable in stealhead fishing...I should be looking for the deepest sections of the larger tribs... And kinda grind it out... And rifle through my presentations...
  8. tried float fishing... well... after a unproductive morning... we went to a smaller stream to see if we could find a pool with a couple trout... pool after pool there were already "anglers" there "aggressively" trying to catch the trout as they swam vigorously around the small pools... finally we found a pool with some trout and no "anglers" to bother them... we only had the pool to ourselves for about 10 minutes until some "anglers" with questionable "technique" arrived and dropped their floats inches from ours... after 10-20 minutes of "fishing" these anglers left... but the trout seemed to be very agitated now... my question is... can these fish still be caught after this unfortunate situation... or are they spooked for the day... i have very limited locations due to the fact that this is the first year im trying float fishing... so i was reluctant to leave these fish... also... how shallow and clear is too shallow and clear?...keep in mind i have limited knowledge and limited tricks up my sleeve... these fish were in maybe 2 feet of water and crystal clear... should i still be using a float? anyways... thnx for any help mike
  9. nice walters you got there.... i need to get myself one of those 12+ fish i seem to have the 10lb curse this year... 650 walleye this year with the biggest being 9.6lbs
  10. Now all I have left to teach you is how to hold a fish in a picture...lol Glad I could help you enjoy our piece of heaven...
  11. That would help... A single musky tooth can send you for stitches... Can't imagine what a mouthfull would do... Well... I guess it would look like a big sucker after a musky chewed on it for a bit... I know what that looks like... Lol Ouch
  12. Hopefully I get a pic this time... Last weekend I got a 9.6lb walleye and buddy took the pic with his finger over the lense... I was so mad!!!!!!
  13. I wouldn't wish that on anybody... Wha.... That would suck... Crippled for life...
  14. It was a nice day to get skunked... Tried for rainbows on lake O tribs today... Zack got 1 and I got skunked... I got a tan tho... We'll make it up tomorrow on the Larry...
  15. nice to see someone dialing in those quinte pigs... so far it seems to be a tough year.... really awesome pictures.... i wish more of my friends could take a decent picture... i got a 9.6lb walleye the other day... buddy snaps a pic... i let her go... look at the camera... it was out of focus and his finger was covering part of the picture...
  16. I have one for my bow mount... It's a good unit... I can mark my jig in 60 FOW...
  17. I've had my Olympus for 3-4 years now... Good quality pics... And you can use it underwater... 200-250$ at Walmart....
  18. thats like the people on the st.lawrence that have in the past and still kill pike... rockbass... sunfish... another lake i know of... they would kill musky cause the locals prefered largemouth bass fishing... these people are usually uneducated and dont realize the damage they can do to a water system... a hefty fine from the MNR will educate em pretty fast... i have the hotline on my phone... in my area... ive seen them show up to a hotline call in 5-10 minutes... if they are close by... they will show up...
  19. NO Bananas... Used to be a joke until... One time halfway through a tuff day my buddy pulls a banana out of his lunch box... I jokingly give him heck... Banana peel hits the water... Couple minutes later...musky Another time in a friends boat... One of the guys had a banana...tossed the peel when he was done... Reeled in the musky Ross at the end of the troll... The banana peel managed to get hooked on the banana eaters lure... Crazy...
  20. not on saturday... i caught 100 walleye jigging then trolled up 5 more... my arms hurt so bad the last cast was a relief... but most days... yes... the last cast sucks
  21. I ended up with a 50 foot leader... 5 colors... Then plenty of backing on my accudepth 27 I wouldn't wanna chase salmon with this set up... But it should be fine for wet socks....
  22. so if im running cranks that dive 20-30 feet... and core runs about 5 feet per color... and the kill zone is say 40 feet... i only need 2-4 colors of core... at the most... right?
