  1. Lol
  2. Or maybe some people don't know how to use an electric knife lol Ford or Chevy right
  3. I've cleaned hundreds of walleye both ways and the electric makes a nicer fillet in my opinion and wastes less meat Again in my opinion Now if you clean fish similar to Simon's "unders" all the time then a manual blade might suit you... Unfortunately or fortunately depending how you look at it my eaters are typically 22-23" class fish I don't clean my fish like I'm in the Indy 500 but I get em done quick enough for me... And I know my fillets look nicer then I ever got em with a manual blade If you can do em faster and better with a regular blade all the power to you... It's just personal preference... I can do em both ways but prefer the manual Now perch cleaning is an entire other thread lol
  4. Trick with the electric is to slab the entire side to the tail... Flop the fillet over and remove from skin I put all the fillets in water at this point as I slab the next fish and so on Once I have my slabs off the carcasses I remove the ribs with a manual fillet knife Everyone I've shown this to has switched to electric I also remove that middle line you spoke of in the video... I find it has blood in it and turns brown and has a strong taste to it
  5. So I have a love hate relationship with the Ottawa River.... I love it because every time I go I find fish and I find fish on new spots.... And it's shallow dirty water which is the opposite of the st Lawrence River I hate it because I've fished this River 5-6 times over 4-5 years and never put a fish in the boat despite finding fish and getting follows every trip... Even got a few bites but didn't hook up Today I had a score to settle and needed to break my Ottawa River curse Hit the River at 7am and first spot we move a fish in the mid 40's but it didn't commit... Good start Later we missed one on a nice weed point but again couldn't get the it hooked up Then we had a fish close to 50" follow hot but my partner didn't see her early enough and missed a good boat side opportunity We hit a few other spots then decided to go back on that big fish as it was on the way home anyways We pulled in and I put on a nice glider and 3-4 casts into the spot I get hit... FINALLY BROKE THE SKUNK CURSE.... I yelled fish on... Get the net it's coming right at us... PIKE!!!!! Never been so disappointed to catch a fish in my life... Ottawa River wins again... I will have my day... Someday
  6. Hello I'm looking for a wedge pedestal... I'd prefer a fixed height no trouble post. I find the $200+ adjustables break and the seals give out Only problem is they seam to jump from 13-15" then the next size is 24-25" I want something between 18-20" Are there any out there? Is there a way to cut down a 25"?

  21. Just to share The guy was selling 3 10" hooker musky baits that retail for $59.99 USD for $75 Canadian total and they look mint...
  22. Yeah but buddy selling the baits didn't even have online banking
  23. I haven't seen this.... And I'm in the Rez 90% of the time I'm fishing... I've seen 2 dead this year... One was full in tact and the other cut in half (I assume the hydro turbines or the ships do this) which I see every year Hope it's only a few isolated fish and they stop On the plus side sturgeon numbers seam strong... See all kinds of em jumping all over the river
  24. Good luck brother May the musky bite hard and the hits on target Let me know if you wanna come back down here again Lew... I've learnt a bit since we fished last
