Musky are about the easy fish to catch.................Until you go after 50's I caught 4 today. Same with Bass easy to catch until you try for 4 in the 5lb category and a kicker at 6.6. Fresh Steelhead are just stupid.

A spinnerbait is just flat out effective for walleye on Scugog. You are dealing with large flats with weed at or near the surface. Inside weedlines on Rice, Tri Lakes,Strugeon can be awesome for walleye. So just because it's a 70K bass boat fishing near shore doesn't mean they are fishing out of season.

I had a 62 shorten to 54. On the Minn Kota a fork extends up when stowing your foot control. The shortest you can make it is 54. I had the guy in Kingston do it and got to watch. I get a lot of value from all the gear ratios. My 6:1 are old and have been replaced by 7:1. For me I catch more fish with 5:1 throwing spinnerbaits ,chatterbaits and also topwater. It sounds easy to just reel slower it just doesn't work for me the 5:1 just matches my natural cranking speed. I even have Curados that are 3.9 I use for football head swim baits. These are all Curados and I'm WAITING for there 9;1

With you not knowing when the tank was last pumped call the honey dew truck. It's good to know how well your system is working. I'm surprised the house inspectors didn't ask for a clean out. It seems like you are a lot to concerned with right. You should be constantly reading your float and adjusting to different areas of your drift. From your feet to the current edge might be 2-3 different adjustments. The fish might be suspended even shorter. The back even shorter.

I really can't do anything about late spring. Most of the walleye have spawned and I can't do anything about falling water levels. So I will be fishing walleye same as any year will start fishing keep trying things until I make contact.
