  1. I know a guy in one our more affluent northern city's that checks property's on a weekly bases. It's a little side deal for him. If there is a problem he would hire a plumping company and over see the repair for a little more money and other stuff. Good little side gig.
  2. You find out how good your insurance is when you make a claim.
  3. You do have mono backing or taped bottom of spool. I think for practice get a spool of mono. That shakespere crap about 15lb test from walleye world and make a mess. A little hands on yard instruction would be best. If you dial up magnets and crank the tension up nesting is impossible then ease it back and work on accuracy.
  4. I should have kept the pic of Harris Boat Works last year. Likely has something to do with this years mess.
  5. If 100 properties had better walleye spawning habitat and 5 mature females used each property dropping roughly 300,000 each. That's 1.5 million per property. Not subject to Gov. budget cuts, the Trent Severn waterway can't mess it up to bad and it works every year.
  6. By opening ice fishing for panfish they spread the money across the Kawartha's. And now it's up to local community's to decide how much they want the money by providing what anglers need. Access and Tim Horton's usually covers it maybe motels and cottage's. Stocking will never replace good habitat.
  7. Scugog is unique in there is little fast water spawning areas. The walleyes are shore spawners. When I did the walleye spawning survey for Kawartha Anglers on Scugog the important habitat was water depth on shore. And gabion baskets were amazingly effective. Gabion baskets are chain link fence with lime stone rocks in them and hated by the MNR. What they do is provide wave action and depth. Walleye don't like sand beach type shorelines that just taper to nothing. It would be a good policy on Scugog to encourage land owners to protect there shorelines with baskets or the limestone rip rap.
  8. Scugog walleye has been re bounding for 3 years. More and more small fish caught. Let it fall into the Kawatha limits and close ice fishing for walleye.
  9. The bearer will still be in Balsam. So the stump fields in Mitchell will be dry.
  10. I heard Home Depot sells lead. Never checked it out.
  11. Load test is the only way to find out. CTC, local garage, you can buy 1 for $50.
  12. I do slip floats with shrink tube. Get proper size and leave about 1/8 long on each end. Quick touch with lighter. Same with tungsten weights.
  13. better like cutting grass.
  14. From Belle River to La Salle ramp would be 35-40 minutes that's not bad. Woodslee B&B is in South Woodslee. look it up you have the whole upstairs and room for boats. We traded Breakfast for a lunch. Real nice people.
  15. Good B&B south of the Belle River exit. you take side road to La Salle about 15-20 minute. Will look it up when I get home.
  16. Like I said 2-3 areas are a 3 ring circus. The other million miles just fun. Even if you launch at a biz spot. #1 you always get a laugh. #2 you can do a public service and help somebody with there launch. Always fun.
  17. If you stick to the Trent River in Trenton or Telegraph Narrows you will play bumper boats. The other million miles of fishable water will be just a ton of fun. Didn't no about the exacter rep off price!
  18. A 12 inch gps and a 12 inch sideimage and a 12 inch fishfinder and a 12 inch down scan is the way to go. Should be able to get that done for 15k. Not to realistic but would be nice . Buy the best and biggest you can afford.
  19. you no it happen you just have the wrong order by 87 the recruitment was falling and by 90 it was back to the 70's
  20. you are just wrong good steelheading is all about recruitment
  21. You don't invest in RRSP. RRSP are the tax shelter. And in that tax shelter you might buy ETF, bank stock, GIC, E funds plus many more.
  22. It counted leaves too. The flood did produce the best recruitment for a few years then the rivers silted back in. That's across the north shore.

As a kid I work for a market gardener. Wrapped about a million+ tomato plants with newspaper . half a million pepper planets. Well maybe not that many paid .50/hr . I remember what worked.
  24. A dam up by Kendal blew out 35 years ago causing a 10 ft wall of water to hit Port Hope. The same spring rain took out the Van Stone dam in Bowmanville. Also soured the river of any silt. Witch lead to the greatest steelheading ever. The late eighty's.
