It's was a good show lot's of people. Only talked to 1 knob so that's good. All 5 halls open so if you couldn't find something interesting you likely went to have a bad time.

I've been in the Redwing Tackle booth Thurs,Friday. We are in and out of the booths caring our product. Seems to me the middle of the road retailers are doing well. The high end guy doesn't look that busy. Thursday seemed like buyers and yesterday seemed like M&D and the kids or Grandparents and kids. It's big all 5 halls, starts with hunting stuff and hall 2 is fishing and I haven't been to 3,4,5. Wear good shoes.

That bay you are talking about at north end. There's 8 -10 cottages on the right "by boat" very shallow and the shore is dry land until the pull the barrier at Balsam. You will see a pt on the left just before the dam drops into that creek channel talked about. Everything from this pt back to main lake is shallow and baron. I've fished Mitchell a lot except that point at north end the rest doesn't really meet your needs. Have you looked at Dalrymple all of Avery pt would meet your swimming needs.

Very weedy on the right and shallow by docks. There's a place on left at the pt just before the dam, is some what like you are looking for. They draw down Mitchel so all your shore is dry right now. Wouldn't be bad time to go look when the ice comes off. The barrier/dam is at Balsam end of channel. They remove it late April early May.

Just a heads up ticket's are $35 until April 1 and then $50.

It's the Heritage Specie Act. Those words exactly from MNR Newman. I was in his office with about 5 other guys. He said immedaitly we could start on Atlantics and stocking Brown trout. The reps from each club and MNR bio went on a fact finding bus tour of the east coast. I didn't go on that but read all the documents. A few years later we assembled all the club east of the Scarbourgh to deal with stocking Chinooks. MNR policy said no stocking east and had some bocas reasons. We went with a media approach putting out press releases to all the local news papers from Pickering to Brockville. Blair Dawson was phoning me at 11:30 pm to discuss. Took a a bit but the policy was dropped and stocking was spread more evenly across Lake O. Anglers and Hunters were against us all the way.

The Garmin is awesome and the price is staggering. With all SI and DI if you don't turn it on it will never work. And that sounds simple but you will be amazed how ,any never turn it on never work at to understand what they are looking at.

Yes it's a problem and it will be a surprise to some who gets caught. Plenty of people are down there fishing for meat. It's only a few gutting fish for roe. I reject the idea that salmon in the river are any less a fish than rainbows. Millions of dollars are spent on boats pursing chinook and they hit the river to spawn they are nuisance fish. Compare to few dollars to outfit every trout guy.
